So after waiting patiently for Christmas morning so I could open my presents and get my diy kit I finally made my first diy juice,
i was trying for a clone of grants vanilla custard (or bryces) here is what I made.
vanilla custard v2 14%
vanilla 3%
brown sugar 2%
dulce de leche 1%,
Sat the bottle in a mug of hot water for a half hour then gave it a good shake then popped it in a drawer and left it to sit for 24hrs,
just chucked some in my Atlantis and took a few puffs,

what at does it taste like? Well the other half thinks it tasted like a nice creme brûlée,
not what I was aiming for, but not a bad result either!:vapor:

It's difficult trying to duplicate a clone but in your efforts you usually come up with something that's actually better tasting. So keep at it and don't let getting it exact drive you nuts. If you come up with something close or something that's not even close but Oh so good, bask in the glory of creating something all your own. That's what DYI is all about. If you obsess over an exact clone it takes all the fun out of it.

Only problem I have with it is a slightly sickly taste, think it may be a bit too much dulce de leche, but gonna let it steep and come back to it in a couple weeks, not to worried, I know I'm going to make a lot of mistakes before I come up with something that makes me say wow!
Main thing I'm making sure of is saving each mix so I can go back and make little changes and only making 5ml at a time as samples

Yeah I've made a couple custard based mixes, going to let them steep as I've noticed when it's freshly made its almost clear with a little bit of a gold tint while my store bought custards all seem to be a rich to dark gold, I'm hoping a couple weeks steeping will help bring out taste and colour

Don't forget to keep copious notes. Nothing like creating that WOW juice, and then not being able to re-create it.

I have to +1 this. I have made the mistake twice, and never again...I use HotRod's calculator and it has space for notes within each recipe along with an input for the last time the recipe was mixed. Very handy and I make judicious use of those functions...

Here's the latest iteration...
