First post!

Hi my name is Ron and I'm a new vaper ( vaper vaping vapor? )

I was an occasional smoker, like a pack or two a month. I know smoking is bad so I limited my use, but I like the nicotine buzz. Wife puts up with it cuz she likes me or something. I never had much of a problem quitting smoking, so I have quit a lot of times!

I started with a Ego style starter pack, with those cheap plastic top wicking clearomizers, and quickly moved on to a Nautilus tank over a VV EVOD Twist. Santa is going to bring me a nice SVD 2.0 unless I can find something better for the price range.

I find I like the max VG juice better, I got some NJoy juice from the local 7-11 ( 70pg/30vg ish I guess? ) which is OK but I really don't need punched in the throat to gain satisfaction.

I've tried 12mg/ml and 15 but it isn't quite doing it so perhaps I'll go to a 18mg/ml juice next.

Thanks for your support and well wishes in advance.

Ron

Hello and welcome to the forum Ron. Glad to have you here!:)

I'm a box mod gal. I like running my Nautilus on an iStick and MVP v2. If I had the new MVP v3, I would use both the iStick AND the MVP v3 with my two Nautilus tanks.

Here's a review on the SVD 2.0 by Phil: A PBusardo Review - The Innokin SVD 2.0

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day:

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

Thanks for the guideline, I liked the 'full flavor' smokes, and could be satisfied half of one, and and practically hotbox a light to get what I wanted. I probably would have been a heavier smoker but ... the stink, the expense .. you know :)

I've seen that review, and IndoorSmokers as well.

I wonder what the guide is for chewing tobacco. I dip about 1/2 a can a day.

Hey there! Welcome to ECF!

You might want to look into DNA mods like the Hana Modz or SX300. Original or clone it's up to you, but i would start up with a clone. It's a box mod and very nice to hold. Look into better tanks for better vaping experiences. Maybe you can start up with the Protank at first and work your way up ;)

Juices- tonsssss to choose from. Look into Mister E liquid, Grants, Five Pawns and many more lol. Taste is subjective. It all depends on the user which they like ;) so maybe if you can find tester bottles try as many as you can. Better still make your own :D

Congrats on your decision to get off analog cigarettes! I also don't like a lot of throat hit but, like what's been said above, taste is so subjective. For example, I've been vaping about 8 months and, after starting out with 18mg nic juice, I'm now finding myself more than satisfied with 3mg nic in a 50/50 blend (vg/pg). Hope you settle in on the taste you're looking for!

I'd recommend any DNA 30 mod. You can get them in a wide range of prices. It really depends on that company that makes them and the quality of the device. The good thing is all DNA 30 chips come from the same places so you're always going to have good results with the chip. But different mods have different qualities. Hana Modz are excellent quality mods and you pay for it. I went from a 15 watt mod to an iPV2 50 watt to a Sigelei 100 watt, but I also rebuild. If you're going to stick with prebuilt coils and clearomizers you won't need more than 30 watts.
