The week before Christmas 2011 I ordered an Ego from altsmoke.com as a last minute gift for my husband who had mentioned wanting to try e-cigs. Thanks to research on this forum I chose a great product and vendor who ships quickly so it arrived in time. At first my husband didn't like that it didn't look like an analog but it didn't take long for him to like the design. He tried it and seemed to like it so I asked for a hit. First thing I said was "omg - I will never smoke again!" Luckily the kit came with 2 e-cigs! We are 30 year smokers of 1-1/2 packs per day. For the first 2 weeks we still smoked maybe 2 analogs per day, just a couple of hits at a time. I suppose this was weaning off the chemicals. We were also only on 18 mg so we upped the strength to 24.
We ran out of cigarettes a week ago and just didn't buy more. We have absolutely no desire to smoke :banana: Neither one of us set out to quit - we were just trying it out. But it's the common story around here - vaping is so far superior to smoking there is just no need to smoke anymore. Thank God!!!!! I am in the healthcare field and it is a nightmare to live a life continually trying to cover it up.

I had a horrible smokers cough, which again, big PITA to try to stifle in the workplace. The cough is completely gone now. I quit encouraging my husband to quit because he becomes a bear to live with but with vaping there has been no nastiness at all. The kids are thrilled to not have to smell cigarettes on us. Oh - and no hanging out in the garage or back patio all the time. We love that we can lie in bed watching tv and vaping away.

Maybe boring details - the e-juice we use is 555 and MLB for hubby and RY4 for me, all at 24 mg. We only use altsmoke right now for juices. Tried Killa Vanilla and it's ok but don't love it, sweet cigarillo don't like it much, Newport would like it if I were in the mood for menthol but I'm just stuck on RY4. Altsmoke's brand was poorly rated by someone on this board but I love it - can really taste the caramel flavor. Wondering if I should try another brand but I can't imagine it being better. Really want to try Bounty Hunter because of all the reviews but sold out in my strength right now. Want to order some chocolate type juice at some point too.

More boring - Found the cartomizers to be a major PITA so ordered LR dual coils that are awesome. They drain the battery some but that is easily solved by ordering car chargers to keep us going to the end of the day. So far the Ego has been great - not perfect but good for us. I'm going to order another kit but go with the Ego -T this time so we have 2 apiece. Someday I'll probably get the Silver Bullet or a BB.

Thanks for listening and thanks to the Forum and Forum Members - I got ALL my info from here!! If anyone has advice or suggestions feel free to post them!

It really has been so easy!:thumbs:

Hola whitepony,

I've seen you say it, too. Can you explain? I know it has to do with Ohms, and volts, and etc.., but that all seems to evade me.

Thanks

Dual coils cartos are made from 2 coils @ 3 ohm each. In theory, it's just as same as you vape 2 single coil standard resistant carto at the same time. And the ego battery are running @ 3.3-3.4 volt, the kgo are running @ 3.8 volt when using a dual coil carto, running @ over 4 volt when using a Boge LR 2.ohm carto (according to Hoosierecigsupply.com).
I prefer a single coil LR carto rather than a dual coil one, warmer vape, hit harder, more flavor.

The formula is:
Watts = Amps x Volts
while Amps = Volts / Ohm.
So, to make it simple, Watts = (Volts x Volts) / Ohm.
