Its Time to Be A Little Bit Nicer

Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed lately, that there is a growing amout of insults being thrown out there. Being a newbie, to e-cigs & forums, I can say that I've unintentionally offended a couple of people, here & sincerely apologize for my rude remarks. However, I've learned that people can be extremely sensitive to the replys.

This is a unified community with the same goal. We are a brotherhood & sisterhood made of newbies & veterans. If someone is asking for an opinion or help, the last thing they need is a wise crack. We are all bothered with daily stress in our lives & an escape to the ECF should be a pleasant one. If you have nothing positive or constructive to add to the post than please refrain from posting.

I'm sorry for the rant but I don't like it when people & myself get flamed.

This is generally a very nice group, so maybe some people were having a bad day. Are you sure they weren't just teasing you in good nature?

Not so much at me - I can take it with a grain of salt. I follow a lot of posts, here & have noticed an increase of insults & deleted posts. Lots of us are suffering from cabin fever & miss the sun.

I try to stay nice even when I disagree with someone. I just don't have time to be negative anymore busy enjoying life. I have seen what you mention though and hope its something that will fade with time.

Welcome to the World of Forums .. over the years, things have devolved in many cases and civility got thown out the window .. not with everyone, of course .. but there is more and more <fight pickin'> going on .. and not just here ..

I think folks just want to be heard, and many believe snarkyness is the way to do it ..

On ECF, the one thing you'll always get hammered on is posting any health issue you think might be related to PV use ..

not so much health issues uncle, but posting unfounded BS is likely to get you rained on people get touchy about that because of all the antis and trolls. Actually a bit too touchy sometimes...

I have belonged to alot of forums and chatrooms over the years and it always seems to cycle. There will be times when a bit of crankiness goes on but all in all there are some really really great people on here. This is what I try to do, ignore the negative till it gets out of their system and be nice if you have to disagree. Always better to greet someone later with a smile instead of bad feelings.

I'll tell you...if you are receiving PMs that are not appropriate...you need to be reporting them. (PMs have the same report triangle that posts have)

Whoever is sending them...this will not be tolerated.

Yes theres a review-negative sections...But I keep hearing about all these customers getting rained on by vendors, when they come to ecf to post their gripes....dont hurt me! *holds breath in fear*f s


I always kinda felt that ecf was for the average joe, and that vendors can come here and play with us if they're nice, and have the advantage of so much of the market being in one place...but they have to play by our rules...it doesn't feel that way (correct me if I'm wrong)

I am new to the forums and have received very rude and inappropriate remarks after making an honest and truthful post..was not intended to harm in any way, and was fact. I really hope something gets done about this, a lady should never be treated with this kind of disrespect...especially on valentines day!! I am always nice, but I guess some people just either lack the maturity or dont have the nice factor in there lives to be able to share it with others and just use this forum as a release.

I received a PM telling me to retract my comments as this vendor will not allow their business to be slandered without cause? I replied to the vendor directly to their "admin@c****pe" letting them know this was not at all my intention and that it was clear in my post that it was not slander and just the facts.

I then got a threatening reply "warning" me not to post in "HIS" thread and that this was my first and final warning?? Going on about they know the type of person I am, if I really am who I say I am?? What the heck is going on here?? Nice way to welcome a girl to the show. I have obviously forwarded this to the admins here so they can hopefully do something about this crazy person.

Won't get me down though!! I am all about free smiles for everyone again..especially on valentine's day!!

Are you just trying to stir the pot? Who goes into a vendors thread and intentionally riles people? That is what you did. ...which "he" calls "HIS" thread...which I guess for all intensive purposes it is ..but still ..grow up..really wish I could post the PM and email that I received. That is a no no from what I have read though.

In the suppliers forum - it is his thread. You spammed the forum unintentionally over the WE. Please accustom yourself with ECF rules. We undertsand and support newcomers, but we will not be be preached by ill informed people.

Canada with the use of PVs. If we are ever going to move forward, we have to be united.

you forgot to tell every one about the refund you are getting because of your spout off in the thread of the vendor you have a problem with. I'm sure there are a ton of upset customers that would love an offer like that.

hmm... There appears to be a huge amount of confusion.

The Canada Subforum is meant for vapers to discuss stuff. Pretty much anything. Your pets, your PV's, what you think of atomizers, what happened when you vaped in the doctor's office, ... it's space on what is intended to be a community type forum. Some discussions can get very technical and having the insight of veterans, activists and occasionally Vendors can add insight - so long as none of it is used to sell or promote.

As mentioned in previous threads - there is a place on the forum to post negative reviews of suppliers - where they can answer and dialogue or apologize or whatever is required. But that is not here. Not in this sub forum.

ECF is one of the largest attended forums in the world - so rules are important - crucial even - to maintaining it. These rules are made by the mods and managers - not by the vendors and vapers.
