I was surprised and how small is is. It's a little bit bigger than an istick 30 but it feels much sturdier.

Well I gave the ni and Ti coil and whirl and I have to say the flavor of my standard ADV is highly muted. The ti coil is giving no flavor at all. Did everything right. Primed the coil. Filled the tank. Let it sit. Took a couple of vacuum pulls. Locked in the ohm. Set the temp low and stepped it up.

I haven't upgraded the software yet.

Meanwhile when I put a nautilus mini with the same juice on VW mode I get the familiar flavor notes,

I'm loving the mod but the tank doesn't appear to be performing for me. I did order some CLRs tonight. Maybe that will make a difference.

Yeah, I have to agree with everything you've said. The Ti coil on the E1M had passable, if muted, flavor for about a tank and a half then totally muted. It's a mass-market coil though so it's to be expected. Even with the wobble I'm going to try some twisted Ti builds with my STMs. Their so dialed in though, I'd hate to chuck my current coils. The builders dilemma...

I agree with ya @Wheats - I'm running the Ni coil right now. I'm getting great TH, but I'm also running a higher-mg juice at the moment. Great klowd, but not the flavor I get from even a PT2 with the same jooz.

I grabbed the CLRs. I chumped and went with the 1-ohm, but I intend on rebuilding anyway....

Wooohooo!!! Congrats!!! The fact that they've arrived in NZ makes me even more angry with Canada Post lol!!!

It made it to a different continent on the other side of the world before it made it here >.<

After my own first hand experience, and that of those I am reading here, I hope that Joyetech is taking advantage of the early feedback to sit up and take note of the dissatisfaction with the Ego One Mega Tank coils. CERTAINLY not ungrateful, but the least I can do is hope they have a successful product for their generosity. It would seem that a major remake of their coil technology is critical at this point if they hope to stake a claim in that very competitive, and vastly improved, market. There is a lot to like about the tank, but bottom fill (ala Vaporesso Target) AND poor flavor? NOT going to be any kind of contender in this rapidly improving technology market.

I was wondering, would the vaporesso ceramic coils fit this?

Lol.. NO, but it WAS an interesting experiment.. Oddly, the bases are identically threaded and interchangeable. The Vaporesso coil though, is significantly wider. Not TFV4 wide or even Crown, but wider than the Ego One coils. The coil diameter just MIGHT be related to the flavor problem. The Vaporesso too, while being WONDERFUL for flavor, is deficient in airflow, falling oddly and even a little uncomfortably midway between a MTL and lung hit. Hmm... Do they TRY each others tech at all?!

Meh, was worth a shot :p I plan on PIF the tank but may get him some kanthal coils as well if thats the case...

I hope they test each others tech to know where they are in the world...

I got the 1 ohm as well. Although I have been vaping sub ohm as I explore the temp control technology, I am perfectly happy with a 1.0-1.2 ohm coil no temp control, 50/50 juice that chucks decent clouds and excellent flavor. At this point my thoughts on temp control are its just a novelty.

Good point! I mean the device is a real looker with solid performance. All they'd need is to improve the tank and coil and they would have an industry contender.

Did you notice any juice getting past the coil head into the bottom piece? When I swapped the ni for the Ti there it was, and I had that coil head cranked down solid after I rinsed the tank and let it air dry.

My buddy reports his mega leaked while laying on its side in his sock drawer. I rarely lay my tanks on their side. But my STM never has leaked.

I love my STM. I have v1 with the tiny juice holes. It's a real beast! Solid, no leaking, great flavor, cloud and airflow. 1.2 ohm coil kanthal. Happy happy. Might try ti build just to see if it makes a difference on the mega. But I suspect someone here will get to it sooner than I.

Haven't experienced any leaking, but to be honest, I haven't even vaped a whole tank. The flavor is just not there. I have many other choices, so, why? :)
Temp control is most definitely here to stay I think. From a mfrs perspective, there is safety in dry coil detection, which is a function of temp control. Think pocket firing, etc. It IS in it's infancy, and WILL get much better, but as always in vaping, we are the guinea pigs. We are the R&D resource.

Ahhh! Pocket protection! Yeah! Didn't even think about that! Well I better get back to work, err that is, back to field testing this awesome Darth Vapor looking' device! [emoji106]
