Yes, I do have a Prime membership and I ordered soup from them when I was sick with a nasty cold. Recently, I tried to order and everything I needed was unavailable. Even Total Wine which delivers said they can't guarantee a timely delivery, lol.

Do a google search for Amazon Prime Now. When it comes up, you'll have to enter your zip code. It's the same Amazon Prime, but it offers super fast delivery. It is only available in certain zip codes. Unfortunately, we don't have access to Amazon Prime Now. We bought toilet paper yesterday from Amazon, and learned that it won't be delivered until 4/15 - 5/15, while my sister-in-law bought some yesterday from Amazon Prime Now and it was delivered early this morning.

....I have plenty of that. Too bad I can't eat it. Now that the whole state is locked down I'm afraid that instacart and all other delivery services will be jammed up.

Wal Mart just started a delivery unlimited plan, like amazon but comes from local stores. Free 15 day trial then about 10 a month. :rolleyes:it may even work!

Fantastic news for me, folks....

My doctor told me to go ahead and get to the grocery store and get some food. This is because I've been asymptomatic and I can't get any updates from my employer about that house. You can't imagine how relieved I was to be freed from this obligatory quarantine. This doesn't mean I can socialize. She wants me to restrict outside activities to essential needs only.

Then.......

I get a text from my boss saying that the group home denies anyone having a virus or coming in contact with anyone having the virus. So they changed the whole story! I hope the state launches an investigation of that house. Are they even conscious of how they disrupted peoples' lives? 6 drivers total were asked to quarantine because of them.

I had spent a good long time running up a list on Amazon Fresh and I was really happy to get most of what I needed until....checkout when I discovered there was no delivery date available and to keep checking back.

Then I tried Instacart and discovered that the nearest delivery would be Wednesday and beyond. This could be because I live in a densely populated area. You can imagine how relieved I was to hear from my doc. But this doesn't take away the fact that there are many folks out there who have kids to feed or elderly who are hungry. My neighbor volunteers to bring meals to seniors and I would love to help out but I'll have to speak to my doctor about that first.

First, congrats for getting to re-join civilization even if in a limited capacity.

Then.....

As I read your post, I wondered how the boss knows that no one has the virus and also knows that no one has had contact with anyone having the virus. Perhaps he or she is omniscient or has a secret sensor, unknown to the rest of us, that can spot these things at a distance.

The homes report to the state. A staff from that group home reported having contact with a positive case. That case remains presumptive because there is no way to test it. However, the state needs to report that info to the transportation company to be compliant with state health officials. My boss gets info from the state. Does that answer your question? No telepathy involved, lol. Imo, someone wanted 2 weeks off with pay and submitted a false report. That's why they changed their tune the more they were pressed for information by the state and transportation companies. I bet you anything that when that staff person realized they would have to quarantine in the group home that's when they started whistling Dixie! Just my theory.

The important thing is that my boss erred on the side of caution which protects me and the other 5 drivers. He said that if and when he gets definitive news regarding that home he'll let me know asap. Ultimately, it's my doctor's call to make decisions about my situation.

I just replied to your comment but somehow there was a glitch and it didn't post. I did explain earlier on in the thread but to simply answer your question. My boss gets his information from the state which receives all reports regarding the special needs group homes. The transportation companies are contracted with the state. No telepathy required, lol.

ETA: Now I see my original reply to you. Oh well, don't know what happened there.
