I'm a 2-pack a day smoker for about 10 years. Pretty hardcore if you ask me. Always wanted to try vaping in hopes of kicking this habit. I've heard about it now and then but nothing solid really materialized.

On 25th Feb 2014, I got a birthday gift from my girlfriend. It was an eGo Starter Kit; two eGo-T batteries and a Protank 2 Mini. I was stoked as hell but remain skeptical as I've always had this impression that I will remain a smoker for the rest of my life due to this overpowering addiction.

That was the last day I bought a pack of cigarettes.

It's been over a month now with no cigarettes in sight! Sure, I've stolen a stick or two during the first few weeks but it slowly began to taste like crap and surprisingly, after smoking for 10 years, I can finally say I hated it. My sense of smell came back. I haven't tasted food this good for the longest damn time.

I think I may have found my Holy Grail.

Regards,
Tim

Current setup:
-Joyetech eVic APV
-Kanger Protank 2
-Cigar Caddy 3140 Humidor
-Liqua, Milf juice, Halo and Vermillion River e-liquids

Welcome to ECF. Congratulations on being able to stop smoking. I have not had a cigarette for almost 9 months now and it is wonderful. I smoked for 46 years so I do know how you are feeling. Stick around here and do a lot of reading. You will learn all about your equipment and how to maintain it.

Be careful of all the new toys you will find out about here. It can get to be an expensive, but fun, hobby.

Congrats. But try to keep it one day at a time. I've seen people get to where you are & for some reason still find a way back to cigarettes. I don't understand it. I've been at it for two months & can't imagine smoking a cigarette now. But it happens.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Will definitely be sticking around here indefinitely.

And ShariR..46 years?? I think you deserve a medal of honour for that! If only I can convince my dad to quit them stinky sticks, now that will be amazing :D

I can definitely see why people go back to cigarettes after some time. They're probably not getting the best out of their vaping experiences. That's why I try to surround myself with knowledgeable people like you guys so that I can educate myself and potentially people around me about this.
