First, I let my tank run out of juice and I got this really burnt smell and taste, very gross, but when I filled the tank back up all that disappeared and the taste went back to normal. Is this normal? I have the eGo-T.

Second question. I have the Juicy Clear Do more in may and the Canadian full flavour. The do more in may is quite a bit lighter and has less colour. The Canadian full flavour is very dark. Is that right when I hear all there juices are suppose to be clear?

First: When your tank runs out and you get the burnt taste and smell, that is common. On that note, try not to run the tanks completely dry. Running a dry atty is bad for it's longevity. As a dripper I get this often, but now can tell when the fluid runs out by the way the draw feels.

Second: Not all liquids are clear, it's only recommended to vape clear-ish liquids as they probably have less particulate that could burn up and gunk up the atomizer. I've not tried the Canadian Full Flavour, so I can't say if it should be dark or not.

Haha, it's a pretty gross taste, as you mentioned. But for the tank model, there is a video post of a tear-down around here somewhere. When looking at the Tank atty's setup, it's surrounded by a lot of meshing, so running the unit when dry could push the temps through the roof quick, and possibly cause premature failure.

Best to top up when you notice it's low, or toss a spare in the pocket.

well luckily Ive never let it get really hot. I couldnt take the taste to I had to fill it back up to see if it would go back to normal which it did. I did notice the atty started to get rather warm when I double pulled a couple times, so I space out my pulls now. I need this to last a very long time. I want absolutely no reason what so ever to go back to analogs.

As Hexy mentioned do not let the tank run dry. This is not apparent on the system as you can get a good 10-15 pulls even when the tank is empty, you are using up the juice that has been stored in the metallic mesh (reservoir). You should be able to notice when the tank is getting near empty or it is empty before going into the gross burnt taste. There is enough indications there for you to at least check the level in the tank and top off if necessary. It is also not necessary to wait unitl the tank is empty before toping off neither.

Wrt clear liquids, yes clear liquids will perform better with this system. Particulate build up on the coil becomes eveident after a prolonged period. The more prevalent indication prior to carbon build up on the coil will be the inability of the atty to wick properly, both the metal mesh and wick. The wick is the T system is extremely critical as it is the one that delivers the liquid to the coil with the overflow going to the mesh, whereas in normal attys it is the mesh that wicks the liquid to the cup. A clog mesh/wick = no wicking.

    hey,

question 1 has been well well answered... so i won't add to it.

As for Question 2, JuicyClear or anyone affiliated with them cannot post here(as i understand it) so you might not get the answers from them... its my understanding that their focus IS on clear juice... but this isn't so that all of his juice just esthetically look nice... they uses this clarity as a judge of the freshness of the nic juice, so yes, JC does empasize clarity of fluid... but that's just as an indication of nic juice freshness. having said that, some of the flavouring DOES have colour with it... and that isn't really controllable... and that's why your juice has colouring... tobacco flavouring in particular are complex combinations of so many elements... its just how it is..

Clarity does not indicate freshness. I have liquids that are 4 months old and are as clear as crystal. It is just that the flavourants I used did not react with either the nic or the VG.

OTOH I have liquids with a tinge some slight, some not so much so. Nonetheless they are all crystall clear, with the exception of one, that flavouring is RY4 from Want 2 vape, it is also an atty killer. I also have liquids that are indeed dark and some are even cloudy (want 2 vape) RY4. Then again my tobacco liquids have a slight tinge but all are crystal clear. I mix my own.

So if you start with good ingredient you will come out with a quality liquid. WRT JC, post in the Canadian Suppliers forum, they can and will answer all your questions there.

thanks guys for all the answers, I am very well informed now. I am not sure if I should ask about maintenance here or go to the atty maintenance forum. Do you have to clean the wick? and if so how often and how?

Atty maintenance is highly recommended - all the way around. It keeps flavors from mixing (which is sometimes a pleasant surprise and sometimes the opposite).

There are a gazillion ways to clean an atomizer wick - whichever you choose - it should be done a couple times a week at least.

I also prime my clean atty's with a drop of VG on the bridge just before using (and once a day). It keeps the atty moist and helps prevent the burning flavor and, at least with mine, keeps the atty a bit longer.

Ive had mine 4 days, I ve only been using one kind of juice. So I guess I can hold off cleaning it for now.

Best thing to do for T atty maintenance is vape a tank of flavourless nic juice every so often. If I'm using clear juices, I'll do a tank of flavourless every 3 or 4 tanks. If I use a particularly dark juice (ie. I just did a tank of Pralines 'n' Cream Cheescake which is almost black), I'll vape a flavourless cart immediately following.

Vaping flavourless will not actually be flavourless. Your atty has residual juice on it, which makes it quite pleasant.
