I've never experienced a "harsh hit"

So, I pulled out a brand new tank this morning. I filled it up with some amazing Cotton Candy/Gummi Bear mix. I never inhale the first two drags. My battery is decently charged and all, but on the third drag, I got a harsh hit! It's about 18nic and 50/50. My regular vape..
So, are some flavors just harsher than others, or can it happen when mixing flavors with different nic levels?

My throat was screaming at me, now I'm used to it or the harshness has gone away..but that was literally my first experience with a dry/harsh hit.

I randomly seemingly out of nowhere started not being able to vape PG. It caused me to cough off of every hit and has persisted for months now. You might want to try adjusting your blend.

Edit: on second thought it could be equipment based as well. Have you tried another carto, head, wick (whatever you use). ;-)

It may just be a random occurrence. I've noticed that sometimes my first few drags of the morning may be a little harsh.

Pretty much the only time I get a harsh hit & have no wicking probs, is when my aga-t coil develops a 'hotspot'.

hot spots are nasty. especially new coil and wick. hot spots burn way too hot.

I've never experienced a harsh hit from a carto. Maybe dry but it wasn't painful or anything, just lacking flavor. I mostly do 18mg nicotine. Since switching to RBAs the dry hits are killer. They get me teary eyed. For a while I kept vaping even though every few hit was painful, I figured it was probably part of the experience lol. My friend noticed I was wincing while I was vaping in the car and pointed out that I probably had hotspots on my coil, she was right.
