I'm over a month into vaping and love it! The past couple days my throat burns when I take a drag though. I've been using eliquid that is 50/50 pg/vg. When I first started I was getting my liquid from a different supplier but I don't know what ratio of pg/vg they use(I just sent them a message to ask them), but it is perfect to vape. The only reason I switched was because the original vendor has super high prices. When I switched to the cheaper liquid it was a little harsh but I got used to it, until recently. It seems like the original expensive liquid is pg (it's thin?) but from reading on here, pg is harsher than vg. Is it possible that vg is harsher for me?

VG shouldn't cause your throat to burn, unless you are somehow allergic to it (?) Flavoring could be the problem or too much nic. Best thing to do is try some other juices, or maybe even some plain VG to see if that is what is causing you problems. Also, as always, remember to drink lots & lots of water!:)

(I also wanted to say I have been vaping 100% VG for well over a year now and never experienced any type of throat problems from it.)

Anything is possible. What nic level are you using bc that will make it more harsh as well. I personally dont think VG will make it more harsh, I use VG to lessen harsh liquids. Now when I step up to 30mg or 36mg nic it gets more harsh. I am not a scientist or have hard facts, maybe more knowledgable people will answer with a more defined response.

I only vape fruit, coffee, vanilla and tobacco flavors from both vendors and the nic level is nearly the same. The smooth liquid is actually 2.6% nic where the harsh is 2.4%. This morning I filled up with the old bottles of the smooth liquid and my sore throat is subsiding. I have a a second PV with the harsh liquid and it hurts my throat to hit it.

Perhaps try another vendor. Maybe they are using PGA to thin the VG or a type of nicotine that is irritating you.

My guess is that because VG is thicker and doesnt wick so fast, you're burning the juice and or filler a bit and that's the source of the harshness. If going slower does not help, you'll need to move on to a new atomiser or cartomiser. Try adding a tiny bit of distilled water (more ideally, PG) to the liquid (5-10%) to thin it.

OK so I just confirmed with my original vendor (smooth but expensive) that their liquid is PG. So that means my current liquid is drying out my atomizers because it's 50/50 mix? It was fine for a few days but then went harsh. I use an eGo T with LR type B attys. I can clean or replace the wicks and dry burn the coil and they will be fine, but can I get PG at a local store so I don't have to wait to use these liquids? I'm almost out of the the straight PG fluid, and will be down to the 50/50 mix soon.
