I've been debating about getting an IPV3 but I've got a couple questions before I decide. Hoping some of you that have one already can answer them:

1. Does the battery door use those little phillips head screws to secure it, like the IPV2S? Or, is there a magnetic closure?

2. Is there an aftermarket way to install magnets, assuming it uses screws for the battery door?

Since it doesn't have onboard charging, like my IVP2S, I don't want to have to be using screws to access the batteries every day. I love that my sigelei 100W closes so securely with the magnets, eliminating the need for the use of the screws, but I really prefer the buttons and feel of my IVP2S. Since I can charge and passthrough with my IVP2S, the battery door is less of an issue; but if I'm going to invest in the IVP3 those screws will be an issue for me. I've already stripped the heads on the screws for my IVP2S and I don't get into it very much, lol! There's NO way I could use a device that requires me to unscrew the door once (or more) per day.

I have one and it comes with hex screws. I believe a second set of phillips heads were suppose to come with it but mine came with a second set of hex screws. It does have on board charging but the charger that is sold with it through vape related sites make it about an additional extra 20 dollars. I am sure there are other chargers you can use but they get a bit funky with their warranty and say an unauthorized charger voids the warranty. So if you use a different one never fess up to it. I just swap batts every other day.

There are magnet modifications you can do but again I believe it is another warranty void deal. So if you go that route remove them before sending your unit in.

I personally do not have a problem swapping batts every other day and two hex screws is far from a stressful task. If you are on the fence between a ipv3 and a sig 100w I can say that the sig is on sale right now at 101 vapes for about 80 bucks. I paid 135 for the ipv3 pre-order. So as far as value goes if you do not think you will be going over 100w the Sig is a good deal with a lot of ppl loving it.

I enjoy my ipv3 and do not use it to its full capabilities but am glad I have it for the dual batts.

Also I will add that the ipv3 is a bit smaller than the current Sig that is out right now. And I think the ipv3 is a performer and looks sweet. 20141028_220951 (576x1024).jpg

But their warranty service is a bit shady so do your homework and decide what device is going to meet your needs. Had to add that pic to reinforce how it looks sweet lol.

If you're looking for a mod with the magnets instead of the screws definitely go with the Sigelei 100 watt. I have a Sigelei and an iPV2 with the screws and I can tell you how much of a relief it is to not have to mess around with those tiny screws getting stripped and cross threaded every time you want to change the batteries.

I have the IPV3, and I have to say, ... i Love my IPV2.

Yeah, you read that right. I love my IPV TWO. IPV 3, not so much.

Oh, The IPV3 is nice, but it's bigger, the fire button sucks ( its like pressing a ball bearing) and it has 1&1/2 useless features, and 1 pain in the ...., annoyance.

Useless feature 1: it has a touch sensor that does nothing, not hooked up to anything, it would have looked better without it, since it does nothing.
The 1/2 Useless feature : the mini USB port. You can't charge the battery in Mod like you can the IPV2, it's only for software updates.

The annoyance : the memory settings. Too easy to access them. Pop up at stupid times. Yeah I know, ultimately user error, but too easily accessed.

Just looking at the Sigelei, it has a more thumb friendly button.

The only thing that I like about the IPV3 over the IPV2 is, inexplicable as it is, because this should have no bearing on 2 batteries in series, is, the IPV3 seems to last a lot longer. Theorey may be well and good, but I know the evidence of my own eyes.

Just some farts in the wind.
