I ordered this: Janty USA - eGo USB BATTERY MANUAL on a Wednesday afternoon, and had it in my hands two days later.

I am in love! It is a thing of beauty. It's a little longer than my standard ego battery, but not at all enough of a difference to be a problem. The bottom easily unscrews to enable charging, the entire battery just feels like quality, and the very, VERY minimal Janty branding is completely unobtrusive on the stainless. (I hate overt branding.) Oh, also, I tend to stand my eGo next to my laptop and the screwcap is machined beautifully straight and flat. It was partially charged upon receipt, but of course I had to plug it in and go from there.

I'll post back in if the battery life seems better or worse on a full charge than my other battery, but for right now I'd say if you spend a lot of time by a computer, plug or on the road - don't hesitate to buy one of these. They're warranted for 3 months, also.

My only quibble? So far they don't seem to sell replacement caps for the port area, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I'm going to eventually manage to lose it somehow.

For $10 more than a replacement eGo battery, I think this is a steal.

I just wanted to update this quickly - this setup is the bomb. I'd be lost w/out it as we've been hitting the road for several 6hr road trips to get my son all set up at college, then visit again for their Freshman Convocation ceremony, then again the next weekend to catch a game.. heaven knows what my next excuse to go see him will be!

Some high points - it's pretty. I'm not going to lie, I love how it looks -

I made the ridiculous decision to buy just the battery and use my black eGo cone & delrin tip. As you can see, that didn't last. The battery is so sexy in the stainless I immediately turned around and bought a cone & curvy driptip from goodprophets.com which I love. (He calls the cones "covers" so don't search for a cone at gp.)

Some high points: Using a passthrough means I basically never have to fidget with my atty. I've got a LR atty on there that I see/touch maybe once a week, and even then it's just to blow it out. But no more fussing around with changing batteries, which is awesome. Just plug in and vape, unplug and vape. Period. I cycle through complementary flavors, so I just don't have to worry about it, which is awesome.

It goes w/out saying that the convenience of a passthru is killer - but add to that the long battery life of a charged eGo when you're on the go and you have a slam dunk, IMO. I couldn't tell you how long the charge lasts, because I've never run it all the way down. Well, wait, maybe once?

The downside is, as expected, the cap on the end - I did lose it once, but found, thankfully. It doesn't need it, but it just looks better with it on, IMO, and keeps any dust out. I'd love to see colored rubber/silicon replacement caps made, because I suspect I'm going to be buying another of these soon for my husband - it's worth it just for road trips.

I do think the draw is a little lighter on my batt than my husband's joye ego - but I also use a LR atty and he doesn't, so it's kind of apples to oranges anyway. The draw doesn't seem any different at all whether it's charging or off the usb, which is good.

All in all I'm surprised more people haven't jumped on this - it's a GREAT addition to anyone's eGo lineup.

It is hot, for real. I don't know why it's so damn slick, but that's the word I use over and over again. Slick.

Y'all are going to LOVE - L O V E - it, I promise. Sue - girl, if you don't know by now I'll pm you the secret to getting your hubby to bend over backwards for you - but looking at your pic I bet you're on it already! LOL Debb - I knew I had you at hello. ;) (You know, I should be getting paid for this. HINT HINT suppliers I spend way too much money on!)

Atom - you don't know how happy I am that you're doing so well. I'm always a little afraid someone is going to "fail" after my advice - but look at you go!! IMO the eGo is the PERFECT starter PV on the market right now - these are just little tweaks that make it even better. :)

Oh wow.

I just bought a 5v USB passthrough which I've found to be a complete revelation. I've been looking for something good on the go and was considering a mod but now I've found this thread.

Man, I could have just bought this and killed two birds with one stone! I've got a silver 510 LR atty here so I'm going to buy just the battery, the cone and a nice silver drip tip (all for less than 30 quid). I always fancied the flexibility of a Janty Stick but wasn't overly impressed with its design. This looks perfect though.

A couple of questions: how does the battery life compare to the regular eGo? Also, does using it as a passthrough affect the life of the battery in any way?

I'm really not sure about your last question - I'm just not sure. And I'm wordy, so I answered that one first...

I will do an experiment tomorrow and take it off the usb when I wake up - generally I keep it plugged in either at the computer or in the car, but I've been curious about the battery life too so I'll report back in tomorrow with how long the charge lasts.
