Hey
Okay so, im not sure if this is a common problem or not with the JS, or other similar devices, but here goes:
I have 4 Janty sticks. To make a long story short, i got one, it broke, i got a new, and then i got 2 more. Now. Nevermind that, the important thing is that 3 of them are brand spanking new.
When i first fired them up, they had an awful taste for two puffs, then they got into it, and well i can praise this device all day, cause when it works its heaven. Thick vapor, fat taste - i personally cant get enough of it.
However once in a while, on all three devices ( did some testing ) id get this horrible burnt metal taste - tasted like burnt circuit, or just.. really god awful. Most of you probably know what i mean.
I checked my carts first, to see if they ran dry. I checked for burnt poly - i tried following advice on the forums for stuffing in the poly further, and also for pulling out the poly further. It seemed to work, randomly - and other times not at all.
Then i gave up. I put in a screwdriver, and "clicked" open the jantystick, cause this was annoying me. And then i unscrewed the atomizer, -and screwed it back in. It seemed to go a bit further in this time. And sure enough, the burnt taste is now _gone_. on _ALL_ my devices. I can taste something that vaguely reminds me of it, but not nearly as bad ( and i do mean not even by a longshot ) if the cart gets dry, but it really works.
My theory behind this is that when the casing is on the jantystick and you try to screw in your atomizer you can get unlucky that the receiving end of your atomizer is slightly skewed in the box, making you either unable to screw in your atomizer fully, or maybe just "only" getting it in there. When you then use it, over and over, you will slightly nudge it here and there and suddenly get that taste. That taste comes when your atomizer isnt probably connected, - meaning that it in my thought must either do a kind of short circuit, or not deliver enough current for it to work properly, and then give out this taste.
So if youre a JS owner, and you experience this from time to time, - try making 120% sure that your atomizer is completely inserted. If you keep on getting the taste, you will probably need to do what i do, open the lid, and screw it all the way in. This way it seems to stay in, as its very tightly secured, and once done you dont have to worry about this until the next time you change an atomizer.
Also, i noticed that you _need_ your atomizer to almost be bursting out the vapor into your mouth when you hit the button; If it does NOT, then it is NOT connected all the way. I thought two of my three sticks were working properly, and in the end it turns out none of them had actually been screwed far enough in, so when i did this, i had a _major_ change in vapor production, taste and just overall awesomeness.
Hope this helps someone else out there, cause its been driving me crazy for a period of time now.
I do btw suspect other reports of other devices tasting burnt, could have somewhat the same problem, - so try readjusting, reinserting, or refitting your atomizer and see if that doesnt help.
Good luck, and happy vaping!
(p.s. if its not obvious by now, i ADORE my jantystick now =)
