That would be funny, but I really doubt "ElectRic(kStoddard?)CiggersSuckMan" is likely to come out from his veil of anonymity anytime soon. If he is who I suspect, he's been working in tobacco Control for at least 12 years while lighting cigarettes for a loved one dying of cancer and has himself smoked cigarettes within the past few months.

so he's been working for tobacco control since he was an infant? wow they start them young!

I heard talk show host Mike Church (xmradio) reference the Stossel piece this morning while bemoaning the over-reaching power of big government in the form of NAional SocIalist regulatory authorities like the FDA.

Mike is an old school states-rights Federalist. I highly recommend his show, but I'm not sure I'd recommend an xmradio subscription to get it.

Nice to see you post again Lacey.
Please check the thread on Indy/Marion County (that you started more than two years ago) on the Legislative News forum, as there now exists a short window of opportunity to get a smokefree workplace law enacted in Indy/Marion County that doesn't ban the use of e-cigarettes.

John Stossel has spoken out on behalf of e-cigs on his show before. What John Stossel advocates comes in his beliefs as a Libertarian. As an advocate of most of the beliefs of the Libertarian party, I believe we need to be responsible for ourselves as well as our actions. I also believe the government has no right stepping on my rights as an individual as long as I am not stepping on someone else's rights. The government needs to get out of my life, pass no laws dealing with an individual's choice for his/her life, get out of my pocket, and do not assume that because I have money, I am responsible for sharing it with whom the government so chooses. And do not tell me how I should think. The government should only 1. protect it's borders and 2. protect an individual's rights.

Okay, off soap-box!!!

I like your soap-box!!!

Stossel is a name. He used to be on 20/20 and ABC News. Usually does consumer interest pieces. He's been around for over 20 years. Perhaps his biggest claim to fame is that some years ago he was doing a piece on pro wrestling and asked one of the wrestlers if it was fake. The wrestler slapped him down, not once, but twice. Stossel got some money out of that, and the wrestler was fired.

Johnny Dep was using one in the movie The Tourist. As more and more people find out about them the bigger the industry will be (and the more people will be helped), but the gov't WILL find a way to tax it. They're expert at profit without product.
