Out of juice and not wanting to buy analogs, I posted looking for retail in SoCal. I had found a mall seller in San Diego that listed retail for JC(Johnson Creek) e-juice at several locations. See post about Retail in SoCal for those details.
I drove to Ocean Beach to a store called The Black which was a large headshop. Behind the a counter filled with various pipes was a display of the Mall vendors kits and a rack with JC juice. I asked for a bottle of the JC original and without asking about strength, was handed an 18mg bottle. The cost was high at $17.95 plus tax, but since I was out of juice there were no complaints. 15 ml bottle.
I like the glass bottle with the childproof cap and I received as well a small dropper top. Ripping off the shrink wrap, I opened the top to find an unusual inner plug on the bottle which I suspect is used to top off a cart. I have since tried to use it as such with no success, but I had a small squeeze bottle in my pocket to I used the dropper to fill it up.
Joye 510, empty cart, clean atty. 2 drops on atty and a deep slow draw.
Interesting, I expected a tobacco flavor of some kind but instead was greeted with a rich coffee flavor. A hint of chocolate topnote like perhaps a mocha. Decent throat hit and vapor a bit weak, but not bad.
I have been vaping Marlboro 24mg from AwesomeVapor which has been a bit harsh for me. Mixed about 50/50 with 555 18mg was more to my liking.
Back to the JC, really surprising was the coffee/mocha flavor but very enjoyable. Vaped last night in a Blues club (actually went good with beer) and again today. Vapor production seems to be up a bit perhaps due to different draw with this juice. I need to slow down on the draw vs the other juice that I was using.
According to the JC website concerning the JC Original "the nutty tones that combine with a sweet grain finish."
I do not taste it that way and even let a non-smoking, non-vaping friend have a taste to confirm the coffee flavor. She confirmed my judgement on the flavor.
Perhaps I got a mislabeled Expresso by mistake? Have not tried any coffee flavored juice to compare this with, but overall a very enjoyable juice.
As mentioned elsewhere, this is my personal opinion of flavor and your mileage may vary.
