Hello everyone. New to this forum, and I'm a vaper now 20 days in, and analog free for 20 days. I use the 808D-1 batterys and love them, manual or auto...I was using pinkspots VG juice and V2s PG pre-filleds...but wanted to check out Johnson Creek because I think I like PG a lot more than VG, I just hope I am not allergic. I noticed some skin peeling and slight itchiness a week after vaping V2s prefilled PG juices, then it slightly subsided after I switched to VG. I also got sick at this time, but could easily be coincidental because I heard immune systems crash after quitting cigarettes, and I definately caught something nasty as I lost about a pound in black lung phlegm. (gross but great lol)

I ordered a bunch of original juices from Johnson Creek, but I have heard so many things about this company and was looking for some info from people who have followed them from the start. I can't find a 'timeline' of them online ANYWHERE..however from what I can tell it went something like...GREAT flavors...then reduced PG flavors that were worse....then SEDIMENTS in their juice....then back to reduced PG juice and finally a VG juice. What happened here? All the youtube videos and posts I see are from '09 or early '10. I know they've only been around since '08, but is this company safe?

The sediment particulates in the juice kind of scared me, but I was wondering if that was resolved. I've also heard a lot of opinions on the juices that they all taste the same, like burnt coffee..are these defective products or is taste really that subjective? I'm just curious what they've been up to lately, and if they make 100% great PG juice with no extra hazards or defects..

And I can't figure out if their original juice is 100% PG or 80% PG. My order of their juice arrives tommorow...and honestly I have some feelings of fear on trying this juice. I see reviews on their site from '11 saying its great, but non JC affiliated site reviews saying they got sick, had sediments in them, tasted burnt etc. etc.

I'm just looking for a PG juice supplier that gives me the throathit of an analog and a rich taste. Pinkspots VG juice just isn't cutting it for me...I feel the nic...but the lack of flavor and throat hit makes me not even realise I'm getting any vapor sometimes.

Thanks guys, and I will let you know how they are tommorow if all seems well :) HAPPY vaping

Their sample packs are gorgeous...some of the best packaging I've seen. Lovely little glass dropper bottles, in a nice tidy tin. They have two "lines"....Red Oak is all VG, but it IS diluted with distilled water. This is the only type I've tried so far. Some okay flavors but NO TH....kind of like drinking a flat cola. :)

Their other line is a combination of PG, VG and again, distilled water. Haven't tried them yet.

So as not to let them go to waste, I've ordered some 30ml 100% PG tobacco flavor juice to mix with them. I don't like super strong flavors, but I do like throat hit, so this should fix them up nicely. YMMV

I have tried a few flavors of Johnson Creek and they have been good. No particles in the bottle, nice and clear. I don't know what the PG/VG ratio is, but it is not a thick juice by any means. The ones that I have tried have flavor note in common, I wouldn't call it coffee, or burnt, just a distinctive flavor, maybe from the nicotine they use. I have tried their French Vanilla and Peach within the past 4-weeks or so.

No worries on JC quality imo. They have always been ahead of the curve when it came to such things as child safety caps and listing the ingredients on their bottles. I remember a couple years ago them having such things when no one else did.

To me JC are the guys you want to like because they do everything right. But at the same time it just wasn't the juice for me. Great flavors but they all have that vanilla extract to them which imo makes them more of a cigar like vape than a cig. Also for some reason (not sure why) their PG juices give me a slight head rush/buzz feeling. Nothing huge but i notice it. I too prefer PG over VG juices so if JC is making you feel kinda funny you may want to try another brands PG juice and go from there. The basic Dekang juice is your best bet for a test. My favorites are the Camel 18mg (was my go to juice when first quitting real cigs) which is allot like an analog and the Marlboro USA mix in 18mg. StrictlyEjuice.com, Flavor Shop! uses Dekangs and i still use them to this day when i want Camel or the Marlb USA mix. 9.99 for a 30ml bottle with free shipping is pretty hard to beat. They also have smaller bottles that are cheaper if you want to sample a few flavors out.

Anyway hope this info helps you out. And since you don't know if your allergic to PG or not i would recommend at least trying one of the Dekang juices and see if it's PG makes you feel like JC's PG does.

Cool thanks for the replies folks. Its reassuring. I'm hoping what I've heard were isolated incidents and/or short periods of problematic production. In any case I am very excited to try these juices.

I read on their ingredients that VG is also in their PG line. So what confused me was seeing posts online about JC now offering PG AND reduced PG...so I'm assuming they knocked off their 100% PG stuff and just have VG and then reduced PG stuff. I'm keen to try the black cherry and french vanilla.

On a separate note. I haven't refilled PG juice into cartomizers yet, I've only tried VG. Is it any trickier because its thinner? I would think thinner would be good for the overall health of the cartomizer though.

The biggest question I also have regarding filling 808D-1 blank cartos is the best way to go about it. Does anyone know how many ML will fit into the premium cartomizers for this battery? I'm going to use a syringe...I've been just shooting it down the sides of the cartridge and getting little to no leaking out the battery connection end but it does happen..

How long should I let a blank that was just fully filled sit before vaping it?

Right. But they are shipped from the U.S. in California so they arrive pretty quick.

Dekang juice is pretty much the original/first ejuice ever made (i think) and is from china. They have been around forever and you would be hard pressed to not find someone who has had a Dekang juice whether they realize it or not. In the past there were allot of places (especially mall kiosks etc) that would buy Dekang juice, slap their own label on it and jack the price up abit. Nowadays Dekang is pretty much the Generic juice of E-juices. As the ecig industry has grown more and more ppl have started making and selling their own gourmet lines of ejuice. I still use the camel and marlb from them to this day as my all day vape. To me they still have the best Camel, their Marb only comes second to the Joye Marb (imo) and some of their others aren't to shabby as well. The main thing for me overall is the price.

So anyway worth a shot imo to see if your allergic to PG or not since most other juices looked at what Dekang did and then went from there. Like i said i too prefer PG but the JC juices just made me feel funny. Once i tried the Dekang though i realized it was just the JC juices that did it to me because i have had many different PG juices from many different companies around the world ever since.

Thanks Chi. Can I ask how long ago you tried the JC juices?

And I suppose it can't hurt that the juices are from China, I'm sure I've already vaped it inadvertently. The only thing that would worry me is the more laid back health regulations over there or at least all the other ingredients they use (that I don't see listed).

I will definately take your word on the JC juice giving you the feeling you described, I just find it very strange, as there are only 7 ingredients in JC juice so i'm curious how this effect affected you...my only guess would be some type of contamination or defect..very strange indeed.

Will def give that site a shot though, and they have coca cola!! :)

VG juice that isn't thinned is hard to get into a cartomizer. Even 50/50 takes a great deal of patience. I use the condom method and combine that with a Taryn spin to top off with more liquid. For high-percentage VG juices, I've been adding a little 100 proof vodka to thin them and make them easier to get in my cartos.

The Johnson Creek liquids, however, are already thinned with distilled water, so they will go in easily.

I just loaded up a carto with a mixture of 1/2 Johnson Creek Chocolate Truffle and 1/2 FSUSA PureCig. It's delicious! (I love tobacco flavored juices)

Enjoy!

There has always been a stigma about China juices (and quality in general i suppose) but it really doesn't hold much merit. Not saying all China juices are good (or bad) but allot of the reputable companies from china i am willing to bet are light years ahead of factories here in the states.

Perfect example would be Leaford from Bloog Ecigs. Leaford is a guy who got into the business, is american and travels to china often working with companies to try and up the quality of Ecig tech and juices in general (pretty much all ecigs are made in china as they originated there). In fact the Bloog prefilled cartomizers use Dekang juice. Below is a video of Leaford in the Dekang plant.

For the record i am not saying China juice is any better or worse than U.S./UK/etc juice. Just saying there is always that stigma around anything from China and in many cases it isn't warranted.

I'm pretty new to vaping (about a month now analog free), and my first foray into juice was Johnson's Creek. I have since ordered from a couple of other vendors based on more current reviews here on ECF.

They were practically the only juice vendor I was able to find company information about on the web through mainstream news sources. From those I was able to determine they have a legit lab setup, and pretty high revenue in such a young industry. I also found their website was more informative than most in their "about us" section.

I ordered the Red Oak sampler and the Spiced Apple Cider PG. Delivery was fast, and I was impressed with their packaging. There's something to be said about glass bottles with droppers, and on the large bottles, a dropper included as well as an proper insert for extracting with a syringe. Even the quality of the labeling is high end. This probably has something to do with their relatively high prices (still not too much more than others though).

That being said, the first VG one I tried was Tennessee Cured, and I really liked it. I found the flavor much better on the exhale. My only gripe was the draw got really hard on the cartomizer after a couple of top ups, but that has a lot to do with the "hardware". I haven't tried the other VG flavors yet.

I love the Spiced Apple Cider, what I've read about better flavor and throat hit with PG, but less vapor seems to be true. This plays a lot better with my cartomizers. I will probably try and thin the VG ones with a couple of drops of distilled water or vodka when I get to trying them.

I've been using the droppers and filling dripping down the sides of the cartomizer into the polyfill. I've been letting them sit overnight, but probably don't really need to since I drop slowly and the fill seems to absorb pretty quick.

I tried a JC Red Oak Sampler about a month ago. All the flavors tasted as delicious as you would want any juice to be. Now, I'm not saying you will like all the flavors, just that you can really taste them, and they taste like what they should. Tennessee Cured is my all time favorite. Very rich and satisfying. The only reason I don't still order from them is because I wanted to sample as many vendors as possible, not to mention their prices are a bit higher than most.

I just ordered some stuff from Strictly E juice, just a couple 3ml bottles and some accessories. I got free shipping and the total came to $9.87 haha. I'll definitely say price-wise that site is UNBEATABLE. Almost unreal. And with the juice quality backed up by Chi I suppose it comes down to what site sells the flavors you like, and VG/PG preference.

By the way if you guys didnt know...type in 10percent for the discount code at StrictlyEjuice.com, Flavor Shop! for..well, 10% off! If it brings you under $10 shipping is still free :p 30ml bottle + 1 blank cartomizer and 10% off anyone? hehe

Well post my thoughts on the JC juices when I try them, but I want to say thanks for all the info and opinions offered here, I'm less skeptical on them now. I'll just check for sediments before I fill a carto, LOL..kidding

I'm not sure what to think of JC, either. From their website videos it looks like a professional company with a full-blown laboratory environment for their e-juices. Then I read about things like sediments and their juices turning green.

BTW, has any other e-juice vender posted photos of their mixing operation? I came across a website the other day of an e-juice site where the vendor had a photo of himself standing in his living room. He was a hells angels looking dude and his living room was completely trashed.

@ Press2Meco....hrm, I know Pinkspotvapors has a picture of their stainless steel kitchen and prides themselves on their cleanliness. I also thought I heard that vapor4life did a video of this, though I'm not sure what exactly it was as their products are made in China. It'd be encouraging if it was a video of an ultra-clean lab in China

I have been vaping JC juices exclusively now for almost 2 years - I love them and have absolutely no issues as where reported with their juices in the past. Their Tennessee Cured VG is my all day long juice and I love it - I have tried many others but for me the TC does it. I will continue to buy from them with confidence as their flavors are a big part of what got me off analogs after 30 years. I have absolutely no affiliation with any vendors this is just my choice of juices.

In my year of vaping, I've used almost exclusively JC juices. The only exceptions were the prefilled carts I got with my various kits from Totally Wicked. I haven't had any problems with the juice itself--always clean and, as far as I can tell, colored correctly. They're based in Wisconsin, which is nice for shipping to Michigan, that's definitely been a factor for repeat purchases.
