Okay, so it's getting time for me to think about ordering replacement fluid. I like the ECOpure concept: "Develop the CLEANEST & HEALTHIEST e-liquid available anywhere in the World! Use the fewest ingredients possible. Avoid the use of Propylene Glycol as a base, as used in most other e-liquid. Use only FCC Food Grade flavourings with a Purity of minimum 99% The nicotine used in our e-liquid is 99.8% pure!" and am thinking of trying their flavor-free product for greatest purity. But I would also like to support US suppliers, and I've heard good things about Johnson Creek (great vape). However, in response to my inquiry, they said, "We do not have flavor free juice and we do not disclose what we flavor with."

So I'm seeking opinions. I want to stop buying from China, and I do care about what I suck into my lungs. Do I order the ECOpure, and if I discover that I really can't live without flavor, try flavoring myself with extracts or something? Or is the Johnson Creek likely to be just as safe? They DO have some yummy-sounding flavors!

Help?

I haven't tried the ECOpure products. Most people would agree that making your own juice is the most practical and economical way to go. It gives you a better level of control.

Buy some 36mg unflavored liquid, some PG or VG or both and some flavorings.

Use this calculator to proportion your mixes and to adjust your nic to your liking.

Thanks! So who sells unflavored liquid besides Intellicig? Are there any American companies who do?

I notice alcohol is one of the ingredients you list. But somewhere I thought I saw a post saying not to use extracts for flavor, because of the alcohol content.

Which brings me to, what do you use for flavorings?

Interesting that your formula combines VG and PG. Are both of these available at most drug stores? I imagine you get the best of both worlds this way...

Nifty calculator! I'm working on making it into an online Google doc for those who may not have Excel.

Thanks much!

You can try these companies based in the U.S. I have had good experiences from both companies.

E-Liquid - Totally Wicked E-Juice

Flavorless E-Liquid : JuicyLiquid.com, DIY E-Liquid Supplies and Accessories

You can also go the China route. Great prices. I just placed my first order with them and hopefully I won't have any problems.

30ml original E-juice with 12 popular flavors - E-juice - Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop

As for flavorings:

LorAnn Oils Gourmet Flavoring .125oz.

I got my VG from a health food store. NOW brand 100% USP. $8.99/16 oz.

I don't have any PG yet but looking to get some in the future. Hope this helps.

You can also check out the DIY section. Loads of great information.

I just got some unflavored juice here: (Tho others have it too, check suppliers list on this forum)

Vapor Electronic Cigarettes - Buy E-Cigarettes, e-liquid, e-cig, electronic cigarette

There's a flavoring thread here:

Just one more thing. Try a small test batch first. Not only for the flavor, but if you want to use something else. I mixed up some lower mg and cut with VG. I know lots of people on here LOVE vg and some have allergy problems with PG, so they only use the VG.

VG made me puke. Hubby had to vape it.

Well, if you are wanting to mix your own, obviously the ECOpure fresh is the way to go.

In my personal experience, I generally prefer JC because of the flavors, however, my ECOpure Rich Tobacco produces giant clouds of vapor.

Sometimes I fill a cart with the JC flavor I want, and then drip the ECOpure to boost the vapor, if that makes sense.

I'm not particularly fond of the ECOpure flavor, though, and planned to order some of the fresh next time.

So, like I said, it really does depend on what you are looking for!

Also scheck out liquidexpress. They are a forum sponsor/supplier of DIY eliquids. Their website has some great tips and all the liquids you need to mix flavors.
It looks like their starter kit is just what I need -- if it were in stock!

I am in email contact with them. Meanwhile, all the batts on my pen-styles seem to be dying at an alarming rate. I want to place an emergency order with The SmokeSafe, as I've seen so many great reviews of their delivery and customer service, but their flavors confuse me. What is "French MRL"? Or "555"? I tried IM'ing James, but so far no answer, as usual.

*sigh* I just want an e-cig that works. Reliably. I am down to one unit now that's performing halfway acceptably. The two USB passthroughs I have aren't working, so I probably need to get a wall charger somewhere for those. I've got a couple of atomizers that don't seem real healthy, although I don't know how to determine that for sure. My e-cig graveyard is growing at a frightening rate!
