I used to think mech mods were stupid until I tried one with a ~0.2 ohm coil. Wow. I guess I was the stupid one. I never realized how great sub ohm vaping could be based off my experience "older" low ohm heads before sub ohm vaping took the vaping world by storm. So I've just ordered a hammer clone, but after a little more research I am wondering if that was a mistake since many say it's not good with ultra low ohm builds. Is the only reason people say this because of the spring in the top cap? If so, are there any other replacement options besides the Chi You top cap?

Also, would the brass Chi You top cap look ok on a SS hammer mod or should I go with the SS top cap?

All I know is the Hammer is known for considerable voltage drop which is not ideal for super low subohm cloud chicanery.

If it is caused by the top cap, then obviously that is what you want to swap.
I would go for the flat cap unless you are going to use something that needs airflow from the cap which it sounds like you will not
