This is mostly a Yihi specific question. On my older LG HG2s i get 23,000 joules roughly before getting "low battery". That comes out to about 6.3 watt hours. A new 3000mah battery @ 4.2v is over 12 watt hours. Maybe i need to run the calculator at 3.7v instead. Im not really sure but that is still only 11.1 watt hours. 3.2v comes out to around 9.6 watt hours.

The SX350J chip hits a battery pretty hard on sag when the battery reaches about 50% on the battery icon. Its not too bad when full or even when the joules counter is at 10,000.

Im going through about 2 HG2s per day which is a little high i think. Would a new set of VTC6s make a large improvement or is there another battery that would work better? Looking over Mooch's test it appears the VTC6 is the best overall for me since i vape at relatively low watts. Seldom exceeding 30watts and normally at around .5ohms. So normally i wont be using much over 10amps.

All my LGs still charge to around 4.15v on a Nitecore 2 battery Intellicharger.

Hi mate,
I would think the VTC6s or the Sammy 30Q's would give you about the same life you are seeing with the HG2s.
The discharge curve of the Sony's might give you a few more pulls, but that is purely speculation on my part.

My LGs are about a year or more old. Normally i didnt discharge them until the "low battery" warning kicks in on my old mods. I do hit the warning more often on the Mini. Its my opinion the sag is more than my Wismec based mods. Next time one hits the warning i will check the voltage to see how far it discharged. Ive got a good Fluke 73III multimeter.

The Mini cuts me off at 3.27v pulled out and measured immediately and settles to 3.3v after a minute or two. This matches other posts ive seen in a old thread.

Since the cutoff is 3.3v on the SxMini and IF im reading the test results correctly.....The VTC6 maintains atleast 3.3v longer than the others tested at 10amps or at even a bit more.

Correct?

Ordered a set of both the Qs and VTC6s from Lion today....Could not decide so at their pricing might as well try both. My older HG2s are just not holding upto a .25ohm SS coil and don't do much better on a .5ohm build. 2 batteries are not even getting me through a full day.

Locally those batteries would have been about $12 each. At Lion, 4 batteries plus shipping was just under $25

Im pretty sure its that my LGs are over a year old. Although i liked them its time to try new batteries. Mooch's chart shows the 30Q and VTC6 lasting longer at 3.3v/20a by a fair amount. How this will translate into my application remains to be seen.

Either way im sure i needed fresh batteries and Lion is half the price i would pay locally.

A few hours ago I found this HKJ made graph in an old BLF thread:

AW%2018650%202600mAh%20(Black)%20-%203A-Capacity.png

AW%2018650%202600mAh%20(Black)-Capacity.png

The cell behind such wrap quite likely was a lower performing Sanyo UR18650FM cell. It serves to illustrate how battery voltage changes between loaded and unloaded states. There's a steep voltage recovery which goes beyond actual cell DC resistance delta, as can be observed.

Cheers :)

I wish i had a way to test under load without the mod but...it is what it is. The only thing i can do is look at my joule counter, take notes and some basic measurements with my older Fluke. I might buy a single new HG2 locally if i get more curious. They have held up very well over many many charging cycles.

Ive read the VT6Cs dont hold up quite as well over the "long haul". The 30Qs do according to what ive read. Im pretty cautious about pushing a battery to its limits. I tend to stay well within its design perimeters/ratings.

My Xtar VC4 usually goes to 1W charge with the outer bays loaded. I just noticed that it was at .75 amps with a 30Q and a VTC6. A little swapping and I discovered that the year old 30Q was loading the charger. I have a new discard for the Batteries + Bulbs recycle bin. That battery was one of 4 purchased a little over a year ago that were rotated frequently.

Try unpluging/repluging the VC4 at the wall wart and/or charger.
Mine has done this since the charger was new. Seems to be a connection issue for me.

Did that and rotated the connection to burnish the contacts. Same thing happened when I got the charger a couple years ago and used an 8A 4 port USB wallwart with 2.4A outputs that weren't up to 1A charging in 4 bays. The charger I'm using is the official Xtar 2A charger.

I'll have to put a drop of De-Oxit on the connections.
