yeah blowing out usually does the trick... don't dry burn too long if you are going to do that... because THAT could blow your atty.... blow out from battery connector end into a paper towel or something and you will see, then drip a couple of drops of liquid directly on to the atty(even if you are using carts this dripping should be done initially, for best results)...
if by any chance you only use carts and have no bottle of liquids, take quick puffs then relax and repeat until you start getting taste and vapor. This should only need to be done a few times and then puff normally

let us know if that helps

I have tried all the cleaning methods except sonic. I have tried most of the mods. The two new ones I got today. I blew them out put 2 drops on atty and filled cart and took short slow 2 puffs. Then set aside with cart up for 5 minutes check cart it was still full. Not much vapor but they where short puff so not to over heat. I have been working on this for a week and half. One of the attys I took everything out but the coil then went through several differant cleanings, and did dri burns until the pt reached cut off I don't even know how many times. The burnt taste or what ever it is is still there. I just don't understand. Cignot, RMV, ZigCig. I am not the only one on this forum with this issue. And why is it I know how to get one of them to work and 11 others I screw up? Read some of GoodDog posts.

I use Ever Clear (180 Proof) on my atty's. Just put the rubber cap on the thread side fill the atty with the Ever Clear put a finger over the non-threaded side and shake... drain... blow out, repeat this process until the liquid is clear when draining. I let them dry for about an hour after the clean. This will totally clear out the atty so be sure to direct drip at least 5 - 6 drops of e-liquid straight in the atty before trying to vape with it again.

Hope this helps...

when you break out a new 510 atty buy the 0mg unflavored Pg or VG from cignot for $3 per 15ml, blow the primer fluid out, flood the atty, heat it up, blow it out, repeat a few times and you will have it cleaned out and ready to go.

I have never had any problems getting primer or old flavors out of the 510s and you don't have to re-break the atty in and deal with the foul flavors for two days like you do when you use the coke, alcohol or crest methods of atty cleaning

imo its caused by primer dried on the wick and fibres as the atomizers are stored.
if they are only blown out before use, this old primer gets burned and smells bad. sitting between the fibres.

now that i have a bunch of 510 as reserve i always bath/rinse them in hot water before blowing out and reprime before use with pg, blowing that out too after 10 minutes.

so far the rest of my atomizers wick better and never taste bad again.

keep in mind that if you not dry out the water to 100% they perform a bit weak the first 20 hits or so.

In my experience, if the atty when completely clean and dry is giving a strong glow with a dry burn, and with a cart there is still a nasty taste, it is the cart not wicking properly to the bridge. You mentioned you don't drip, but in this case you should drip a few drops directly onto the bridge and vape. If the vape is still nasty, there is an atty problem. If it vapes well and tastes good (given the juice is a good tasting juice), then it is the cart...and this is the most common issue.

If you are using original filler, consider one of the cart mods. There are several and they are for the most part quite simple and fast. The original filler can be problematic in wicking properly in a relatively short time after first using it.

My first thought is that either they're not authentic joye 510 atties, you're not getting the primer liquid out well enough, or maybe your e-juice is the problem, not the atty. The only time I've had bad taste coming from my PV was when I tried diluting a bottle of e-juice with some extra VG. I didn't realize the delicate balance I was upsetting.

Then again, as with just about everything else from China, each part seems like it's just a little different, and maybe you really did happen to get parts from a couple bad batches.

Ok went thru cleaning again. flooded the atty and blew it out put two more drops on bridge and tried tailpiping it still horribly taste and stink. And it is hell getting it out of your mouth. The juice is from Eliquidplanet and cignot. But both orders are less than month old and well with in expiration date. I think they are all from China the lid has YNDK.

1 out of 12 I have bought didn't have horrible taste and smell. I have tried everthing I could find on this forum to fix the problem. Even drip doesn't help.

I've found that many of the genuine joye 510 atty's are bad. I gave up and switched to the Vapor King. Good luck with your search for good atty's.

Well it is nice to see someone else has the problem. The only other one I have seen is Gooddog. So it is a crap shoot to get a good 510 I guess. I assume you never found a solution or vendor that would admit to a possible problem. Do you know it the Vapor King atty will work with 510 batt or pt. I thought I had for the perfect device until this started happening now I have boat load of 510 batts, pcc, carts so on.

Hmmm, I wonder if it could be the battery, or the carts you are using? I know that sounds weird, but that many horrible tasting attys sounds strange.. I buy those 5 packs from Totally Wicked for $40, and have only had 1 that was dead on arrival out of 50 or so. Of course the primer needs to be blown out and burned off, but I have had good luck with them.
