A little back story first, I bought my very first e-cig in January, an intellicig EVO. I've loved it since the first day I picked it up on my lunch break from work. Since then, I've tried to smoke the last 3 analog cig's left in my last pack, but ended up throwing them away after just a few drags. The taste is just plain awful to me now. And for that I'm grateful.

Now I still do really like my EVO, but I've been looking at the Joye 510 and everyone seems really pleased with it, so I'm thinking I'd like to give it a try myself. My question is this: Is the automatic battery on the 510 reliable? I've seen a lot of people bashing automatic batteries, but the two autos on for my EVO have worked great. I'd prefer an auto, but not at the sacrifice of performance and reliability.

Also, I was looking at ordering it from Cignot, since they provide both options, auto and manual, for a good price. Is this a good supplier? Any suggestions or where else to order from?

Thanks for your time.

I would not recommend an auto batt for the 510. The 510, especially while you are still trying to get it to work right, can leak, and this can get juice in the batt hole, which tends to ruin the batt. The cutoff for the 510 autos is rather short too. The manual batt is a "sealed" batt, and will not get juice inside, and the button allows essentially no cutoff. Auto batts in general can be problematic too, since loud noises can activate them. But nothing is stopping you from getting either a manual or auto kit and then an extra batt of the other kind to try...you will be buying more batts and attys eventually anyway. One or two extra attys in the first order is a good idea too...they can die when you least want them to.

Cignot is an excellent (and very low cost) supplier of the Joye 510, although not the only good one. Other good, fairly low cost suppliers in the U.S. are LiteCigUSA, Rocky Mountain Vapor, NHaler, Liberty Flights, Ecigsupply, The House of Vapor, and Awesome Vapor. [NOTE: They all sell the Joye 510, not a clone (which can be chancy).]

Some models (e.g., Kr8 and DSE801) have well-implemented automatic switch batteries but poorly implemented manual switch batts. The 510 is just the opposite: the manual switch (and the button that engages it) is unsurpassed, but the auto can be flaky. As Kurt mentioned, if you like, you can hedge your bets and get one of each in your first kit.
