First a little history--I'm 20 years old and smoked analogs for 5 years. I bought my first PV last November. I mainly bought it because my best friend had bought one, and highly recommended it; furthemore I hate the cold and I could not smoke analogs inside. My local vendor, the only one the state besides the malls (which suck) carried three or four models: The M401, the Joye 510, some classic pen style (llllloooonnnggg thing) and some kind of juice box. I went for the M401 because it was cheap, stylish, and I didn't know much and wanted an auto battery.

I thought I would use it only to smoke indoors, but in three days I decided that tobacco is NASTY and I quit!!! After a while, I became unsatisfied with the 401; tiny carts, hard draw, etc. When I got into ECF, I tried every cart mod I could find and nothing worked...

So I bought the 510! And one puff was all it took to convince me--OMG! The vapor production, the taste, the big clouds of smoke...I fell in love instantly. I have only had it a few days, but the 401 can't TOUCH it! If I had bought this model first, if I had researched this forum first, I would have saved oh so much time, juice, frustration, and money...

So my word to all you frustrated mini users--GET THE Joye 510!!!!;)

Near a beach in a desert.
try a 3.7v mod like the protege for more battery life if you need that aswell.

Don't buy a Protege' until PS gets their product working right(burns up atty's and the switch is a huge pain in the ....). I'd recommend either staying with the 510 or going for a Janty Ego. 510's just cannot really be beat unless you are concerned with battery life. If that is an issue then definitely look into a Ego or Tornado(one in the same).

BTW welcome to vaping! Good choice as well on your first PV - you cannot go wrong with a 510!

I have been very happily vaping my KR8 from V4L for the past month, but after so many good reviews of the Joye 510 and Cignot; and because they have such an awesome deal on the no box starter kit ~ I just decided I HAD to try one. I ordered the nobox kit as well as the titanium usb PT. (Ordered some juice from Cignot a couple days ago, but hasn't arrived yet...I expect it this afternoon or monday and will advise how their 555 compares to V4L if anyone is interested)

Oh my goodness, I hope the kit comes with instructions! I will stalk you tube for how to videos, but I have never used a 3 piece unit so it will be a new experience for me!

Any experts on the Joye 510 out there who are willing to help me out in case I have questions and put up with my initial ignorance, please holla!

I started out with the DSE901 which was fine. I kept reading on here about the 510 and decided to try the great deal at cignot. I have had it for 4 months now and am still using the same 2 batteries and attys that came with it. I noticed lately that I have to change out the batteries quite often and was wondering if I needed to try the Ego but did not want to spend so much money on it. I searched for a longer lasting battery and found that there is a mega 510 battery at cignot for $16 ( a bit pricey)it is a tad bit longer than the standard battery. I ordered it yesterday and know it will be here really quick! I guess I will use the standard batteries till they die and hopefully enjoy about 6 hrs on the new battery. Time will tell.

I had a similar experience. I have smoked for 30 years. First saw the Greensmokes and tried them. They were OK, but each cartridge seemed to have good vapor for about 5 drags, then weak city. And man, are they expensive! Fortunately, they had a 30 day guarantee, and honored it nicely.
Then, after some research, ordered a 510 kit from Chicago e-cigs. They turned out to be Dekangs with auto batteries. Within two weeks, all the led caps had fallen off, one battery totally fried, and the attys lasted about 4 hours before needing a cleaning. Tried to get some satisfaction via email, but never heard back from them. I was getting very frustrated, and was starting to hit analogs occasionally.

Then, after exploring ECF, I decided to try the Joye 510s from Cignot. Got 2 kits with manual batteries. And what a difference! These things are amazing! And Cignot's service is beyond excellent. I am vaping Tasty Vapor's Cafe Machiotta, and am saying "wow" with every puff. 10 times better than analogs!

Thank you ECF!! You saved my life.
