Ok, am I blind or just stupid as usual ?.....

Does Joye not make a HV atty ? (I need true Joye to work on my PS protege 1.1 due to thread tollerances with their new stainless adaptor.... SLB's won't thread).

Also, is there such a thing as a HV "cartomizer" ??

I'm getting so sick & tired of that burnt taste on "everything" lately, even at 3.7-4.2v, that vaping has been taking a further back seat for me..... and THAT aint good at all I tell ya !!

Don't know what to say Greg. IkenVape has a new series of atomisers (LV, HV, XHV) that perform well. Unfortunately they are SLBs. Now that I am a mod junkie :) playing with various voltages dependant on mood, I prefer SLBs over JoyE, which I find a tad too hot these days. Mind you that doesn't help you though.

I know Nhaler has various voltage attys, I am not sure about him still shipping to Canada though, nor if they were JoyE. When he was shipping was rather pricey at $22.

Pure smoker has them as well, not sure what type neither.

Otherthan that, you are going to have to it the vendors one by one.

Thanks Rick.....

Ya, its getting frustrating for me. I can't even get things tasting consistantly good with dripping which I HATE doing unless sitting at home (negating the cause being due to the filler).

If I put any atty on a freshly charged 14500, the taste gets nasty very quick (again, even if dripping), but if I let the battery sit overnight, or continue using one until "some" of the charge depletes, I get flavorable vapor (this is also true with the SLB 4.5 ohm atty's I grabbed from FarmYard).

I'm just not feeling the love lately (and paying the price by hacking my lungs out with friggin analogs).

The search continues........

Hows the fistpack? Which one did ya get the LV or HV?

Have you tried 901s? What is the original threading of the V1.1? I'm just winging it here Greg, trying to help.

What are you vaping? Might want to try a switch up. I know I can't vape the same thing all day day in and day out.

I grabbed the (SX) model: 4.3-5v, although I've only used the lowest two settings which gives me enough "warmth" of the vapor before going too hot and getting that burnt taste right off the bat.

Months back I used/tried the 901's (they came with my original mods before I converted adaptors away from them). Just wasn't a fan of vapor production which means a lot to me in the "visual" satisfaction, and the cart size.

I've been playing with two diff supplier juices lately as bases and dabbling with nic strengths from 12-48mg (boosting is easy enough without altering the flavor due to having very high strength nic, but with reducing I use a 50/50 PG/VG pre-prepare mix, then a few drops of either distilled water or vodka to come near the consistancy of PG based juices), slow step up flavor boosting (usually with chocolate's or coffee's flavourings a drop at a time until it hits the "disgusting" factor, lol).

DoMoreEh - 26mg from Vapables
Waffle - 24mg from Clouds of Vapor
USA nic - XXmg (don't ask !!)
PG - Humco
VG - LorAnn's
flavorings - PA, LorAnn, FA, and Capella

My end mix consistancy is "near" a PG based juice, so I'm pretty sure my issue is not due to lack of wicking (especially since I have the same results with dripping).

I've tried atty (from many different suppliers) flushing with prop alch soaks, then blow out, then repeated rinses with distilled water and more blow outs (yes, including the vent hole passages), then priming with an "un played with" supplier juice.

But the burnt taste I'm getting is similar to one you'd get if breathing near an electrcial fault.

Add to all this my A.D.D. competing with my O.C.D. and it makes for a horrid mix of WTF, lol.

Quote: "Might want to try a switch up" ...... Is that an offer ?? huh ?? is it ?? lol.. I'll PAY just for an opportunity to try it !!!

Seriously, I think I'm going to go dig out my standard 510 batteries I have stored away (somewhere), and try going back to basics at this point for comparison sakes.

Thanks for the discussion and help attempts.....

I've just started using the 510 Carto's from Clouds Of Vapor....... they ARE consistant but not producing the THICK FULL vapor I want/need. At least they are NOT burnt tasting.

I'm really thinking my issue is with the juice foremost & then the atty's. I'm waiting on a "care kit" being sent to me to try someone else's DIY process & flavour.

Hope's are high !!

Yes Dkrom68 the protege IS 3.7v nominal but 4.2v on a fresh charged newer battery.

Sorry, those here through past conversations know I have a few diff devices (two of which are HV, and one of those adjustable that I prefer to use).

The mention for the true HV joye atty to use on my Protege was both for the threading issue AND the burnt taste I'm getting in an effort to try a different approach with my "bad taste" problems..... I'm kinda scrambling here to find and overcome the issue and poor experience I'm having and wanted to try "anything" to rule out things.

But, as mentioned... I believe now my issue is more "juice" related yet enhanced further with my attempted set ups. More so with my own DIY attempts.

So..... I've put myself back into the learning from scratch mentality again rather than just packing it in and giving up due to my lack of "commitment" personality.

Juices are very good, thks Switched !!, but only if I drip (which I hate doing).

So my next (on hand) attempt will be to return to the PTB and not the blue foam & fluval to verify if my issue might be there with poor wicking causing the burnt taste (guess I'm a heavy handed repeat vapor with constant hitting on the thing).

If that fails to work out, I'm hopeful on learning more about this AFSv2 thingy.
