hi all, these forums have been awesome in helping me purchase my first PV. Now I need your help. I received my 510 2 days ago... came with 5 prefilled malbro cartridges which I HATED, but have topped up and they are working fine.My mother received hers today and we bought some blue stuffing for the cartridges which we attempted to put together. In one cartridge we put one piece for precut foam and added liquid (my mothers) that seems ok, but I set up my other atty and cartridge to do the same but.... there seems to be little vapor, and the liquid is oozing out... I think i might have flooded the atty so i have blown it out, but still seems to be little vapor. can you help?

Also, how did the newbies go with the inhaling? I'm a 8mg analog smoker I purchased 18mg juice ( a variety of) honestly it seems I'm trying cigs all over again... i just want to cough my lungs out....same with my mum.. she smoked rollies and just tried the 8mg menthol liquid and she cant inhale it.

with the blue stuffing... how many pieces did you use?

thanks muchly:D

the liquid is sort of oozing out the end when i inhale, but there is no vapor, i thought i might have stuffed it wrong (the blue stuffing) first time i done this, have tried the pre filled carts with the same atty still no vapor... atty only 3 days old :(

the way I stuffed and filled the cartridge, could that have buggered the atty??

thanks for the reply

Out of the end of the cart? Of the atty where it joins the battery?
Is the atty firing with no cart attached? (does it glow red inside)
Have you tried dripped a couple of drops of juice on the atty bridge (mesh covered bit that sticks up inside) and vaping that? (use an empty cart for a mouthpiece) How does that work? Or does it?
Have you another atty you can try if this one is DOA? (It might be dead - so dont try cleaning it - blow it out but dont wash it - if its truely dead you'll have to let your supplier know so you can return it for a new one).

I'm not much help with the blue foam, but might be able to help with the inhaling. Are you inhaling directly into your lungs? I can't do that. I have to pull the vapor into my mouth, then inhale it. If I go straight to my lungs I hack a lung out.

For the atty with no vapor, try blowing it out really, really well. Then attach one of your prefilled carts and try again. It may be flooded and/or the blue foam that is causing an issue for you.

Make sure the blue foam is cut in a kind of triangle shape, but short and just a little wider than the cart. it really is only about 1/2 long then stuff it just into the end of the cart make sure you get it saturated with juice and them add another drop if it seems dry. One or two drops on the attys and you should be go to go. Make sure the atty is tight on the batt and then use a long slow inhale. Took me a little while to get the blue foam right but now it is all I use. Good luck, and good going on mom!

All of these recommendations are good. I am a newbie my self and I find that this is a jouney and it is alot of practice and experimentation. Sometimes, I get juice in my mouth because I want to keep the atty from getting too dry...then sometimes I forget and get a terrible taste in my mouth . Stay with it and keep reading and asking questions. Best of luck... the forum is a great resource!

I don't use the blue filling, still just using the regular polyfill that comes in the carts, but I have had the same experience, usually from overfilling the cart (and then in turn flooding the atomizer). You might try wicking some of the fluid out with a paper towel and then try to puff-puff-puff on it without inhaling a few times.

There's apparently a fine line between overfill and underfill and I've had the same problem myself several times because I tend to try to err on the side overfill because I don't think flooding will ruin an attie but running it dry will.

FWIW it sounds like you may be puffing a bit hard or may have overfilled the cart. And if you pull too hard, then it seems like it cools the atty too much for good vapor production. Exactly the opposite of a cigarette. There's a reflex to be unlearned. Pulling harder doesn't give more vapor.

What you may like to try is pulling the stuffing out of your cart, blowing the excess out of everything and put a single drop on the atomizer. Then take a single puff slow slow slow for about 4-5 seconds. You should have good vapor on the second puff at least. That should cure the seeping or "spitting" problem.

How to stuff your cart? There's a vid on that somewhere here on the forum. Please forgive me for not digging that up, my post count is too low to post a link anyway.

If you decide to go the drip route, then you would probably not want to drop much more than 2 drops on the atty at a time.

thanks guys so much for the response... someone suggested to me to try a meter thingy on the atty to see if it was dead, i am looking (hopefully) to find a you tube link for that... apparently you have to do that the right way...

thanks for the advise on the atty as well... I didn't know you could run it dry... I'm having a little more success with the blue foam now... I have got it working for me... just trying not to fiddle with it too much now.

last analog tonight... wish me luck
