Woke up to 3+ inches of heavy wet snow this morning and still more falling from the sky so I cleaned off the truck, hooked up the plow and spent the next few hours moving the white stuff. With a quick vape every 1/2 hour or so (whenever I thought of it) my 510 ended up in a different place inside my truck it seemed - in my shirt pocket, then the cubby hole in the dash, then the console between front seats, on the passenger seat, clipped on my shirt collar, etc.

Then I took a break and drove to the local store and coffee shop for a loaf of bread and a couple of hot coffees for the day. By now the snow had changed over to rain and snow mixed into slush, still about 4" everywhere and poorly plowed parking lots as well. Inside the store I ran into a couple of friends as I pulled my 510 from my shirt pocket and vaped a few minutes as we talked. I finally left with goods in hand, got in my truck and headed home.

On the way I reached into my shirt pocket to grab a vape and no 510. Hmmmmm... I then started checking all of the locations I had used inside my truck this morning to hold my 510 by no luck. Oh crap, maybe I dropped it in the store, so turned around in my driveway and headed back hoping that I dropped/lost it inside rather than outside in the nasty slushy parking lot. Finally arrived with fingers crossed and headed into the store as I glanced over where I had previously parked my truck earlier and noticed a black, pen-shaped object embedded in about 2" of cold, wet slush right in the middle of the coffee shop drivethru exit lane, so I headed straight for it. Sure enough there it was and I picked it up.

It was cold, wet and slush-covered but fortunately no one had driven over it. I quickly began to wipe it off with my fingers and shirt as I headed back to my truck hoping it had survived what I had put her through. Back inside my truck, still cold and wet I took a vape and to my surprise it was in perfect working condition.

A great ending to a story about a bad thing I did to my 510, my buddy, my friend. Needless to say, that will never happen again!

Mine sat in my car for the better part of the day and was ice cold when I finally realized it was out there (hey, wheres my other battery and atty at? uh oh). One second warmup for the atty and its puffing like a dream.

And the first day I had it, I was holding it in my mouth clearing snow off the car. All of a sudden, it got a lot lighter. Guess the carts dont hold on as tight as my 401 does. Landed straight down on the LED side with a "crack!" Thankfully, it was more sound then damage. Small crack on the LED cover, and thats it. Pushed it back into place and now you cant even tell there was a crack there. Pretty stout lil buggers!

Glad your 510 is okay. I've had similar near-misses with mine, but using a hand sanitizer container from Dollar Tree as a case makes this far less common--and it seems to be fairly watertight. My roommate sometimes even uses an automatic battery (actually a Smoking Everywhere 2.0 that fits) and just takes the top off leaving the rest in the case.

I FEEL YA SHORTSTUFF 116
Ohh what a bad thing you did. You know you are to never let it out of your sight. Only bad things can happen when you are not watching.
I took mine to the SEC game this past weekend and was putting it LED down in my knee highs. Like a good girl, she was there everytime I reached for her. Then another bad throw and I reached down and----I, OMG, she was gone! I know I put her there, checked the bag-no not there. Check my seat-nope, not there either. Sh#@$ where is it? Looked at my ole man (with the-It's your fault look) he says "what's wrong?"----I lost my PV! It's not here, I put it in my knee high and it's gone! Help me find it. Well he went down a few steps and there it was on the steps going down the stadium. I obviously got more into the game than I realized. She is a bit scratched up but not the worse for wear, I am so sorry JOYE510. Never again will I abuse you and take you for granted. You have become "my best friend".

I dropped my 901 out of my shirt pocket into a water trough at work. I heard it hit the water before I saw what happened and already knew what it was. I have never moved so fast to grab something...LOL. I wiped the water off, took a few primer puffs, and it is still working as good as ever today.

Man, I FEEL your pain! Just 2 days ago I was running errands. I vape in my car while I drive- which is a real joy because I tried never to smoke in it- REEKED too much. Well, my car has an ashtray in the center console and I keep my 510 there. At one point I reached down and, UH OH, noooo 510!!!! PANIC!! Dig around while trying to drive....WHERE IS MY "BINKY!!!!??!!" I finally just pulled over to avoid an accident. I went over a major bump just before it went missing so it MUST have bounced out and fallen under/between the seats. So, I'm digging around under the seats with my @$$ up in the air and I just CAN'T find it. Now I do have OTHER carts, batts and attys, but none with my MAIN flavor BUT I have a Dr's appt. to get to so I assemble a new one and keep going- all the while wondering if my hubby will be ...... if I ask him to REMOVE both front seats from my car when I get home. Eventually I make it to the store to buy groceries, I open up my coupon keeper, and, there it is, stuck in the fold like a book mark. Am I a dumb@$$ or what?

Now, that's the kind of gripping drama that will keep a vapor on the edge of the seat! I noticed a little slip with the pronoun usage here, though:

[...]it... it... it... her :thumb:

It's OK to do a little anthropomorphizing with "her", buddy. We know you love her. Let it show! We accept you.

Geez....Okay, well here you go:

Here's a 510 atty attached to a Smoking Everywhere 2.0 auto battery ...well, at least I think its a 2.0, they couldn't seem to send me any atomizers that fit it so I gave up. SmokingEverywhere called me and asked why I hadn't ordered any more carts, I told them if they sent me a working atty I might consider it, but I told them I'd already spent way to much money on their crap so they weren't going to get another dime before I got a working atomizer so she hung up on me.

And here you see it actually WORKING... (Sorry for the bad picture quality--I wasn't trying to block my own face, but it was the only way I could pull a decent focus with my phone)

The above is actually what one of my roommates uses. ...but since I took it out for pictures, I think its time for a "cosmetic" mod.

I ordered 20 nail decals with the Portland Trailblazer logo from eBay My World - nailz*by*me

$1.75 with free shipping is amazing and she has hundreds of different designs that work very well for decorating batteries with your own "Brand". Note, however, that these usually only work against light backgrounds...they won't really show up on black batteries, for example.

My very first night out with my brand-new 510 was to a beer-tasting get-together at Hamburger Mary's in Chicago. Everything was fine, I was stealth-vaping away and enjoying the novelty of not having to "step outside" every 20 minutes, when I suddenly noticed that my e-cig had vanished.

I felt around the booth as discreetly as possible and figured out that it must have slipped down between the seat cushions. Unfortunately, the only way to retrieve it was to get everyone on that side of the table to stand up while I lifted the (very heavy) couch-style seat off its box base, then slid under the table and wiggled headfirst into the base. It was a big, deep box and I ended up basically hanging upside down from my hips in order to be able to reach the bottom. Groped around in pitch darkness for a few seconds and there was the 510.

Good thing I'm agile and not too easily embarrassed.
