Hey all..

I'm a gadget freak with great interest in computers and repair that also like to mod everything i can get my hands on..

I were thinking of a smarter way to transport my data and programes instead of carrying a cd/dvd or flash stick everywhere..

Then i got the idea of building it into my PCC charging case, that uses an usb connection to charge the box..

Now i always have my data on me, and it works great..!! :D

What do you guys think of the mod.. ? :)

I love it!!!
Is that a MS Pro?

How hard was it to solder to the contacts?

I thought of this as well but dont have any small usb drives that would fit.

Ive broken MANY flash drives on my keychain so this will both be very secure AND I KNOW Ill always have it on me.

GREAT Mod. Cant wait to do it myself!

MS Pro.. ?? If you're asking about the drive its a sony micro drive ? hmm :)

It can tell you that it wasn't easy.. ;) it took me about 1 hour, and i'm very steady with a soldering iron.. :) I have had the same problems with my drives, so i stopped carying them i my chain, so this were my best solution.. the only negative thing is that you'll have to carry an usb-mini cable, but anyone with a digital camera or so have one lying around.. :)

I just did the mod 2 hours ago, and i'm already about to fill the drive with apps and musik.. ;)

Sorry my bad english.. i'm from Denmark.. :D

Hey Ocmaster85. That's awesome. It reminds me of some similar hack I've done on one of my EEE PCs.

I know they chip isn't much of a power hog but it is on all the time. Do you see much of a drop in power? In other words, can you still charge 5 batts?

I guess this can be revised with a micro on/off switch too. Plenty of space for it.

again...Nicely done.

Hello ocmaster85.

Sorry to bump up this old thread but I am still interested in modding my PCC like yours. Have you ran into any shortcomings? Less battery charging to the Titan for example? Is the PCC battery draining prematurely? I am wondering because your mod is simple and great but leaves the Flash drive always on.

Maybe the drives "sleep" when there is no data request? I am not sure but your input would be great. I would assume enough time has transpired since you modded it so you should have enough test hours to provide a conclusion.

I really like this mod but I am hoping I do not have to put some kind of micro switch inline with the power lead.

I look forward to hearing from you.
