Okay, so order number 4 and its only been 3 weeks! AHH! I cant stop the spending! So on Saturday I had the misfortune of both of my batteries being dead at the same time. Somehow I made it though, but I don't want another bump in the road like that to derail my quitting of tobacco. So I figured I had 2 options. Get a passthrough, or get a bigger battery like an eGo/Riva etc.

So I come across a deal for a Joye eGo passthrough! An ego battery that you can vape on like a passthrough while its charging! Sounds like both of my solutions in a single package! So I ordered one through vapemasters.com. (I also got a LR atty to try out as well!) Seems like a small company just getting started, but I had a nice round of emails with Shane and he seems like a good guy, and he has a few threads on the suppliers forum. (It also doesnt hurt that he has a sweet deal on them right now!)

So, now that I have rambled on... I wasn't able to find a whole lot of info on the eGo passthroughs. Does anyone have any experience with them? What do you guys think?

I don't have an Ego PT but have read good things about them from many here in ECF. As far as the spending stopping- don't plan on it for a while! :) There's always another toy or new juice flavor out there calling your name !!!

If only I could stop long enough to hit my break even point. I keep telling my wife that this is gonna save us money compared to smoking but I'm about $200 behind right now! lol.

I just ordered my ego passthrough from liberty flights. I have an Inspiron 9300 laptop (6 years old) with (4) 2.0 usb ports. they are never being used only to charge the ego.... Can I use my passthrough on my laptop. I have been reading the forums this morning and some people are having trouble with the passthrough hooked to there computers...

Any thoughts?

well, once you get the right amount of gear and juice to last a little bit, you can start salting away the regular amount you once spent on smokes and then do your shopping...

Someone with more experience will jump in here soon, but if your usb power is consistent enough to recharge it will be fine - you can also use a wall charger type to plug the usb cord into

You'll be robbing the charge rate of your battery if you vape on it while charging. If you are a light vaper, it may not be a big deal.
Me, I'd get a couple of 900mah eGo batteries and have the freedom to move around a bit at the same time.

I'm looking to get a pt eGo batt, but I've been wondering about that. You wouldn't be stunting the overall longevity of the battery by using it in a pt would you? I'm assuming you will still get xxxx number of hours out of the batt either way, but that you can't just sit and vape, then unplug and walk away with a fully charged batt. ???

From what I am understanding, the ego PT cable doesnt draw enough power through the cable to work the atomizer, so it actually runs it off the battery power. But the cable plugs into the opposite end of battery so you can still vape on it while it is plugged in. I imagine, unless you are chain vaping for hours on end, it would charge faster than you drain the battery. There is a post on here somewhere I read yesterday where a couple people loved it because they used it as a PT while at their PC and whenever they would leave they had a fully charged ego batt to last them until they returned home.

I suppose, as most things in this new hobby, its kind of trial and error. What works great for some wont work so great for others. For me, I am rarely away from home for more than 5-6 hours at most. Sounds like a perfect solution for me!

I’ve been using mine for about 3 weeks now…I switch over to it every night when I get home…

I bought it to take some of the wear and tear off my other batteries…You’ll see a red light on the end glow when it’s charging…When I vape on it the light stays on for a few minutes then goes out..Haven’t had any problems with its charge when I’ve taken it with me…I think it’s well worth getting one as a backup…Seems to charge just fine plugged into my Dell…
