Just got my eVic today. It's charging. Right off the bat...it's nice looking, but not as good a build as the ProVari. I'm also kinda worried about the charger cover. Wondering how long that will last. It's built into the head unit, so might be an expensive fix.

LOADS of instructions, so I've got something to read while I wait for it to charge up. I like that it tells you the % charged so far. I'm at 59%, so it'll be a while. :)

I paid $65 for mine on the coop.

Hi everybody,
Got my eVic yesterday, it worked like a charm,
I happen to be the first person in India to have officially bought it the day after it arrived-

But it stopped working the next day, checked the joyetech website and found that mine was in the batch - that they have recalled the control head in a notice posted on the 27 Dec, and my batch must have shipped out before that

My vendor says I'll have to wait a little - lets see will keep you posted,

Also check out the recalled control head notice in the news section on the joyetech website home page,
Cheers all - I'm back to my t3 and 1000mah till then

Great news -

I got my replacement head - works like a charm so far
Did not expect it so fast -
I'm happy

$67.50cad, no co-op, just the head/tube/cap. It was a 2-day special, back to $87.50cad

I have so many batts/chargers/cables, that this deal was too good to pass up. The eVic at v1.1 is now (imo) the most advanced mod on the market w/upgrade capabilities. The build quality is not provari range, but on every other level, superior.....and I have a provari!

I actually find the build quality to be pretty good for a Chinese mod, def not a provari but it is good. Build quality is the only thing about it that I find nice though. The 11 watt, 2.2 amp power limit makes it almost worthless for my vaping style. Couple that with the slightly buggy software at times and it is my first mod I've bought that has been placed in my underwear drawer not to be used. Only reason I havnt just given it away is the hopes that something nice can be done to it with a firmware update.

Never stop being amazed at the way people comment on these devices.
Its not a Provari.......... Well, no and no one ever claimed it was. 1/2 the Price with Dealers doubling cost out the door.....Hmmmm
It doesn't fit my Vape Style.........Love this one....... Can one design of one Anything really satisfy every ones needs?
It won't fire my .6ohm coil tank.......... Umm that is almost a dead short........circuit boards do not like dead shorts.

I have 2 eVics for now along with a battery of other mods. No evic isn't perfect. Then again, I don't believe any other mod is.
eVic 1: I can pretty much throw anything I like at it and it does the job and makes me happy.
eVic 2: Will not Fire below 2ohms - single/dual doesn't matter. At or above 2 ohms it seems to work just fine.

Evic Has already been upgraded Mechanicly. Chip versions/board or a combination were changed. This is what caused the Recall, midstream issues in the change over. My good eVic came as a 1.1 loaded device. The #2 unit was a 1.0 from the change over time frame and even with updates has a few bugs.

Most importantly if you don't like a purchase but know it is over-all decent, Don't toss it in a drawer, Gift it to a new Vapor. They will be forever appreciative for such a kind gesture.:)

I knew it wasn't a provari, I actually think the build quality us nice though, I already said that. I pre ordered the device as a 15 watt mod, then after I get it, it turns out to be an 11 watt mod, that alone will keep me from ever ordering another joyetech product. It does not handle my RBAs well at all, and therefore does not fit my vaping style. I never mentioned a 0.6 ohm head, but a 1.5 ohm head should be doable but it really isn't on the evic. Not sure why that is hard for you to understand or warrents an argument about why I don't like the mod.

Wasn't trying to argue with you or anyone else and never said you did or didn't mention anything. I actually also said MY eVic will not fire anything under 2.0ohms.
My post was to an accumulation of various points, my own included and simply to show - WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT - and no one device will ever suffice.
thinking_animated_smiley_emoticon.jpg maybe I need to work on my presentation skills. Didn't mean to get anyone upset.
Oh and the .6ohm was from a guy that complained his eVic was totally weak running his .6ohm tank even at 15 watts. Ha, he probably put the eVic into a coma. It just isn't designed for such.

Remember this: We all jumped on this one in it's infancy and that is typically considered the worst thing to do. Hopefully, as stated by many, updates will make this a decent device for most people.:)

Understood, I apologize for going on the defensive. I am just still really sour about the device originally being marketed as a 15 watt device when joyetech should have known what it was capable of before they ever started advertising it. It would be a good device for most vapers but it doesn't cut it for me, I keep my provari, vamo, MVP, and vmax in circulation and like I stated am hanging on to the evic in hopes of a cool update for it. As I stayed before though I think the over all build quality of it is quite nice though, better than any other device I own with the exception of the provari.

Couldn't agree more on the build, considering its origins. The Stainless parts soon to be available may make it much more durable also. I did see one thing that impressed me and am waiting for someone to crack one open and confirm. The eVic has 3 vertical boards and should be pretty heavy duty.
I'm wondering of the 15w is still possible and current software is the real issue. May be that Joyetech is not satisfied with controlling regulation at highest settings.
I found out with a battery at 57% and 2.2ohm atomizer(not firing) I can only reach 10.4w setting. By disconnecting the addy I can adjust it to 11w and before updating, it would adjust to 12w. All this leads me to believe the limitations are most likely software related and may, at Joyetech's discretion, be corrected.
Next software update is due out end of month.

For the time being, I'm more worried about the FDA than the eVic.

My evic fires down to 1.5 with no problems at all, haven't tried lower as I have nothing lower than 1.4 (it fires that also). Must have a problem with #2.

Mine will fire a 1.5 as well, the problem is in the 2.2 amp limit of the device will limit you to around 7 watts at that resistance. I vape most everything at 8 or 8.5 watts and my RBAs with ss wicks at 10 or 11 watts. Like I said, it would be fine for a lot of people but doesnt gel with my vaping style.
