Joyetech 510 - Atomizer, Cartomizer, Clearomizer, Drip or Tank?

I'm probably the 800th person to make a thread like this, so forgive me for that. But I'v fairly new to the world of vaping and my first real e-cig that isn't disposable is a little Joyetech 510. So far, I love this little guy. Got myself a single Boge LR cartomizer for it and some "cinnamon churro" juice, which while tasty, tastes absolutely nothing like cinnamon.

In any case, I've been looking at the site I got it from. - The name of which is actually censored because it's, in my opinion, a terrible name for a website. - And there seems to be a lot of different coil options available. As I said, I'm currently using a cartomizer simply because they're cheap and I'm fairly certain I know how to use them. But I can also see this carto' wearing out very fast. I've refilled it a few times and already the wick is starting to get all messy and stained. I know you can clean these things and reuse them, but realistically, most people just buy more of them.

So, I'm curious about other options. My next best bet would be an atomizer, I think. But I haven't the foggiest idea of how to actually use one. I'm sure there's videos online and such but I've decided to come ask the experts here:

What would you, as a veteran of this whole subculture, recommend to a newbie like me? Keep in mind I like to keep my ecigs small and compact so I can take them out and about easily. I'm happy with the 510 model itself and I'm just interested in the different coil options (is that what this is? By the way? coils?)

The site seems to stock every kind of add-on for the 510s, and none of them are particularly expensive. So my options are pretty good. Thanks!

First off... Anything that turns e-liquid into vapor is an atomizer. It's more than less a fancy word for some sort of wick and coil that has somewhere to connect a power source to heat said coil. Also, 510 is just the connection an atomizer uses to connect to the battery. A lot of your cheaper batteries have EGO threading (Such as e-go batteries, vision spinners, etc.), where as the more expensive APV's and mods have 510 threading. You can screw a 510 atomizer onto an ego battery, but you can't screw an ego atomizer onto a 510 battery without an adapter. I realize you're talking about the device "joyetech 510", I'm not experienced with it but I would assume (and seriously hope) that it's a battery with a 510 connection.

If you like cartomizers, get a carto-tank. Basically a cartomizer with holes punched in it and a giant glass tank on the outside that you fill with liquid... Not as much filling maintenance required and still get the same great carto taste.

If you wanna get away from that, I'd recommend a Kanger T3S / Kanger EVOD, both are pretty cheap bottom coil devices that are easy to maintain and work relatively well. Both of these are EGO threaded however, so you may need to buy an adapter. A step up would be something like an iClear 30/30s, Protank 2, or something of that nature. All these devices are going to perform well.

Honestly, what I would recommend most... If you aren't attached to the super small size of the joyetech, grab yourself a mod like the iTaste VV3, Vision Spinner, MVP 2.0, Vamo V5, etc. and a Protank 2/3, Aspire Nautilus, or a cartotank (AGR+ fits Boge 510D/510XL cartomizers) and find yourself getting what most would consider a much better vaping experience.

If you REALLY wanna step up the game, get one of the tanks I mentioned above, and pick up a DNA30 device (Such as the cloupor/Hana) or better (Such as the 50 watt iPV2). Use the tank you bought until you feel comfortable with your new battery, and do a little research... Then pick up a rebuildable atomizer. The vape quality you get from rebuildables absolutely demolishes any factory set up out there (in terms of flavor, throat hit (or lack thereof, up to you), vapor production, customization, and cheaper cost to maintain), hands down. The mod will last you a LONG time through your gear progression, but it's still sensitive enough to handle the basic tanks.
