Nice wrap.

I used to live in Opelousas, not too far from Washington.
Me too! I went to junior high and high school in Opelousas. Small world.

Ok, I got it. First impression: I´m not impressed...

The 0,5 coilhead looks suspicious (the channel in the middle seems to be blocked by too much cotton) so I tried the 1,5 clapton coilhead. The airflow is too open for me. Even if I close it off completely the draw still is too airy for my taste. I primed it with a few drops and it flooded, when I first tried (50:50PG:VG). At 15W it seems to deliver less vapor and flavor than the Ego One Mega with 1,0 Ohm CLR coil.
The topfilling seems rather messy too.

Like I said: Very first impressions after just two hours of use.

EDIT: I played around with the topfilling (opened and closed it several times) and the coil is flooding again. Argh.

Sorry to hear about your tank troubles. Seems pretty serious. It sounds like it may be missing an O-ring or or have some other manufacturing defect around the top. Youtube reviewers have shown that closing off the airflow ring should pretty much stop the airflow completely. If you're getting airflow with it completely shut off it might be a defective tank. An air leak would explain the flooding, too.

Still waiting on my Cuboid & Cubis. I'm mostly interested in the .5 ohm coil. Looks like it should be the easiest to rebuild. I really hope mine won't have the same problems yours has. I ordered it from China and it would be a pain to return.

Thanks for the advice! Could be it. I get more Airflow on the Cubis with it being completely closed, than I get with the Ego One Mega with 1.0 CLR coils and my preferred setting, but with MTL I like a pretty tight draw. I could get used to the draw of the Cubis though, that is not the big problem. My thought was that it closes of too soon when you screw it down, so that pressure forces juice into the coil.

My thoughts after one day of usage: Vapor production and flavor with the 1.5 Clapton are ok, but worse than with the Ego One Mega (1.0 CLR) (flavor is worse than vapour production and maybe its biggest letdown). Flooding turned to heavy gurgling, when I screw it down slowly (and it happens everytime!). The pretty big and juicy top part (Drip Tip, airflow, chimney and coil) makes the topfill not very convenient.

Right now I´m tending to keep using the Ego One Mega for MTL. I was very satisfied with it, but wanted to treat myself, because my hardware expenditures are pretty low.

Does your tank have slots cut into the top of the tank threads? When you unscrew the top part that holds the coils, the threads right above the glass should have vertical grooves cut into them. Those allow the pressure to escape when you replace the top. You can see those grooves here.

Have you tried the other coil heads? Some heads might work better than others. I also agree about the eGo One Mega (although I'm strictly a direct to lung vaper). A lot of people don't like them but I've been vaping on them every day for 3 months using the CLR heads without a single leak or dry hit. They rock with a SS coil in TC. No complaints at all.

Yes, Ive seen the slots in just this video and they are present on my Cubis.

Ive screwed in the (suspicious looking) 0,5 head just after my last post using 3mg juice. The draw with the airflow open is pretty much identical to the Subtank Mini (which I own and LOVE). The gurgling problem is still present, but to a lesser degree, when I wait a minute before I use it. Then two to three rather nasty hits with spitback and than its ok. Except for occasional slight gurgling. The flavour is pretty weak compared to the STM. Been using it at 21-23W with 65VG juice compared to 26-30W on the STM with the same juice. Vapor production is pretty good though.

Again: Rather fresh impressions that might change.

I just got this tank in the mail today. I usually use a Crown with a .5 coil at around 40 watts. I have a menthol juice I use at around 30. I bought this to use for work with my menthol 70/30 vg/pg juice.
So far, I'm really happy with it. I'm running it at 27 watts. No problems with it at all for me. Perfect airflow all the way open. No gurgling and wicking like it should without flooding. I like the leak proof design and the price is great. Already thinking of getting another in black. Very happy.

Just got mine in the mail today as well. I am purely a TC vapor who likes moderate airflow (not cigarette tight, but not TFv4 or dripper wide open). I prefer the Subtank mini on the middle airflow setting. With that said here's my impressions:

Pros:

1) Nice looking tank. I really like the look. It's short but still holds a decent amount of juice (3.5mL).

2) The leak proof design is great. It simply is impossible for it to leak from the bottom. (Knew this before I bought it which is the main reason i bought it).

3) It arrived clean. All I did was wash it with soap and water.

4) The top airflow is really easy to use and has the right amount of resistance on the turn.

5) I have only used the 0.5Ω coil so far, but the flavor is really good. A touch behind the STM, but still better than most other clearos I have tried.

6) Vapor production (on the .5) is about the same as a STM with a similar coil.

7) The easiest tank to fill. Dump the juice from your glass bottle in. No dropper required.

Cons:

1) The wire is not 316SS as advertised. I am pretty sure it is 304 (maybe even some other grade). The reason I do not believe it is 316 is because I have a spool of verified 316 wire that I build with and this coil does not have the proper TCR value when testing it on a DNA-200. If I set it to 316 mode on my DNA, I have to turn it up to 500F to get ANY vapor at all (I am talking barely a small puff). 550F produces mild vapor and 600F seems to be a "normal" amount of vapor. When I put it in 304SS mode, it works much better but still runs cooler than 304 should. I tried 430SS mode and it runs too hot. So, it's weird. It is most likely indeed stainless steel, but likely some odd grade.

2) Doesn't come with an RBA. I hope this changes. I am not keen on spending $15 to $20 for a pack of coils every few weeks.

Is the airflow more or less than the Crown? Do you have any other tanks to campare it to?

The airflow on the 1 and 1.5 way to tight for me, prefer the crown about half open, this full open is less than the crown at smallest opening. The .5 is much better, the juice holes almost twice as big.

Burned all three coils, the. 5 by accident switching mods, other two by chain vaping in wattage mode at only 14 watts.

Ordered two five packs of the. 5 and going to get a vtc and upgraded firmware to try tc in ss mode

It's a good looking tank, doesn't leak, easy to fill, would like it for stealth and maybe in the car in the winter so my windows don't get so dam dirty. Really hope tc works, taste was average, not a cloud maker but would be great mtl tank. Crowns are my personal favorite, owned about everything, as of now very tough to beat

Well...the Cubis with the Clapton coils is kinda' aimed at us MTL Tootle Puffers:

Clapton Coil for Mouth to Lung
Joyetech has developed and produced the very first Clapton coil for mouth to lung users a 1.5 ohms’ coil head that provides the mouth to lung vaper a whole new level of satisfaction.

The biggest problem for mouth to lung vapers was getting enough flavor and vapor from a tight draw coil head. With this new Clapton coil set up that is no longer an issue. I spent more than a day using this coil head on one of my Cubis tanks and I have to tell you, had this been around when I switched to sub-ohm tanks I doubt I would have adopted the Lung Hit method of vaping. If you are a mouth to lung vaper that has never been thrilled by the performance of your tank and coil heads, I urge you to try one of these. I’m betting you won’t find anything on the market that hits better, or provides as much flavor.
