I was refraining from posting.
Simply because: I am only one experience.

Cancel your order if its too late for that: Use the tank as a shot glass.

Awesome concept.
Lesser than horrid performance.

So I currently use Subtanks with the 1.2 or 1.5 ohm coils with the airflow partially restricted along with using a different drip tip that is more restrictive.

I just ordered a Cubis as I'm very interested in the design of the thing.

Will this be alright for my vaping style? I'm not really a MTL or complete lung inhale person as I sort of do a combination of the two similar to how I use to smoke.
I'm not quite sure how to answer this since I prefer an airy draw. The Cubis airflow can be closed off quite a bit to give you the restriction you're looking for.

I'll echo Stirredstill. Great concept. Wait til version 2. It's garbage in it's current state.
People throw comments like this out there but don't say what makes it garbage. Personally, I think it's a so-so tank; there are better out there mainly cause the coils to me seem to be finicky.

I'm using one of mine right now on the VTC Mini & the vape I'm getting out of it is pretty satisfying- that may have to do with putting in a new coil tho.

My prefered tank of choice is the subtank mini.

Surprises me people not liking the Cubis. I do like the filling of them. Been using mine for 3 days now at 45 watts and it gives an amazing vape. As I do with every stock coil as new, I rebuilt the .5 coil with my own SS316L and organic cotton pad from Walmart. Mine has a much bigger air hole down through the centre. Down fall is tank is so small I am filling it every hour or so. CHEERS!

@pappcam

Sigh.
See what I mean?!

Your going to get people from both sides of the fence.... MAYBE there is just horrible quality control of coil production. We can chalk it up as some of us just getting a crummy batch of coils.

I sure as heck am not putting any more money out to find 'a good batch'

Let us know how things work out for you!!

Looks like the concept and coils are here to stay for Joyetech.

The new Ego AIO is a one piece device that uses the Cubis coils and concept, but looks a little bit like the Tron Tank.

from Spinfuel...

The biggest problem for mouth to lung vapers was getting enough flavor and vapor from a tight draw coil head. With this new Clapton coil set up that is no longer an issue. I spent more than a day using this coil head on one of my Cubis tanks and I have to tell you, had this been around when I switched to sub-ohm tanks I doubt I would have adopted the Lung Hit method of vaping. If you are a mouth to lung vaper that has never been thrilled by the performance of your tank and coil heads, I urge you to try one of these. I’m betting you won’t find anything on the market that hits better, or provides as much flavor.

Well, I got my Cubis in the mail today. I gave it a wash and threw in the 1.0 ohm coil after priming it with 6 or 7 drops, filled it up, gave it a few primer pulls and let it sit for about 30 minutes. I actually get pretty good vapor production and the flavour seems to be OK. No dry hits after about 20 pulls on it although I wasn't exactly chain vaping and normally I don't anyway. I'm running it in VW mode at 16 watts.

It's certainly not the dud I was half expecting from reading some of the reviews here. I love the cup style/leak free design so if it stays working well it will definitely be in my rotation and I may pick up another.

Anybody?

I've heard conflicting reviews on the Cubis and I'm hoping it's only the cloud chasers who have issues with it as I'm definitely not a cloud chaser.

So in a way I guess it is primarily the "cloud chasers" who are having issues with the Cubis. I don't consider myself a cloud chaser. I do whatever I can to get the most flavorful, dense vape I can. Right now that means a Titanium core/Kanthal outer dual fused clapton build in my Velocity RDA at 75 watts and 500 degrees F with the airslots closed down to about 1 mm. I also enjoy a SS316L core/Kanthal outer dual fused clapton in my Twisted Messes RDA at around 80 watts and 400 degrees F with the airflow closed down to about 1 and a half holes.

Obviously, I vape the aforementioned builds direct lung style. I was looking forward to enjoying a mouth-to-lung experience with the Cubis and its clapton coil head but even with the one I got at around 14 watts and different airflow settings, I kept coughing. I don't know why it wasn't working for me.

I suppose with the airflow closed off a little bit, and the 0.5 stock coil head, and at around 20-25 watts, you can get an "ok" vape that has pretty muted flavor IMO. But that is the only way I have managed to vape these coil heads without getting dry hits.

I had a Subtank Mini a long time ago. It was actually my first sub ohm tank. I loved it back then, and if I were to compare the flavor and vape from that to the Cubis now I would say the Cubis fails. BUT I have also progressed so far since the Subtank (RDAs, claptons, SS coils, etc.) that who knows, I may find the Subtank's vape unimpressive now as well. Hope that gives you a good picture of how the Cubis vapes FOR ME.

I gave up on my RBA and rebuilding it for now... I thought I had a successful SS316L build in one for a little bit but it was so often gurgly and still muted flavor that it wasn't worth the hassle. (I was building vertical coils with all the annoying bends to make them fit in the RBA properly.)

I have two and have went through half a dozen coil heads (all three styles) and the RBA and haven't found a satisfying and headache-free experience with it yet... I envy those who have.

Has anyone seen/heard of the Council of Vapor Phoenix tank?? I'm seriously looking to this for my next tank. The main reason I got the Cubis (besides the price ($16) but after buying an RBA ($10) and a pack of coils ($12) later anyway :-x) was for the top airflow and leak-resistance. The Phoenix tank is the only other tank on the market right now (that I know of) that has top airflow ONLY. I wish it were an RTA or will have that option in the future but currently it is a ceramic coil with no replaceable coil heads ATM... They tout that the coil head installed in the unit should last "months". I've found three reviews so far (1 from a "major" reviewer and 2 from people I hadn't heard of before) that all give it solid thumbs up for flavor and performance, but it's around $50 so I'm still waiting till more info/reviews come out on it...

So I thought I'd give a 48 hour update on the Cubis.

I originally was using the 1.0ohm coil at 16 watts and it was working great. Last night I switched over to TC mode and I have it set at 450 degrees at 20 watts and it's still performing flawlessly. I've had zero dry hits and zero spitback or gurgling. I've filled it up a couple of times since I've got it with the same 70VG juice I started using it with. I'm glad I ordered it even with some of the feedback here.

Bang for the buck, Cubis is the best $18 I've spent for a tank.

My only complaint is the very small capacity. If Joyetech made a Cubis that had a 6ml liquid capacity, I'd likely forego rebuilding. It's so easy to fill, that almost doesn't matter. Almost.

As long as the coil is primed properly, and allowed to sit in a full tank for 25-30 mins when new, it's a champ for me.

I also find it versatile. A 1.0ohm coil for my usual MTL, or a .5ohm coil when I want a more airy draw. Did I mention it was only $18?

I assume you're using it mouth-to-lung style, no?

I just tried one of mine again with a relatively new 0.5 ohm coil head at 19-25 watts and all I get is almost NO flavor at all and a weak airy vape that immediately reminds me of a Blu electronic cigarette... I'm so angry at this thing and I truly am striving to understand how people are saying they are describing their experience with it as "cloudy" and "flavorful".

BTW I'm also getting dry hits every other vape which is the MOST annoying thing so far...

And just to avoid the proper priming lectures I've pre-primed, dry puffed, and allowed to soak every single coil head I've tried anywhere from 1 hr to 2 days. I've invested way too much time in this thing.

As I stated back early in this thread, the only way I've had any luck with this tank is using the 1.5 ohm coil & keeping the wattage below about 12 or 13 watts.........clasic tootle puffing......but my luck with that has been great........I now own 5 of these tanks & 50 1.5 ohm coils for it........IMHO it is a fantastic little tootle puffer

I also use the .5 coil. I set at 30 watts. I get flavorful, decent cloud. I use 70vg to 80vg and its awesome.
