I just got the JoyeTech eCab. It seems like this is a "mid-level" e-cig, 3-pcs, and not very many people post about it on the forum for some reason. I've been using it about a week and it's working out really well for me. I've been reading the forums and noticed some possible safety problems involving Li-ion batteries. There's a lot of information to absorb for a newcomer.

Basically my question is this: Is it safe to continue using the batteries that came with the kit, or should I get a different battery?I'm taking the same precautions I would with any other battery, like keeping them in a relatively cool place, etc. but are there any other dangers I should be aware of? I've also seen things about protected vs. unprotected batteries and cannot tell what it is I've got.

I'm including links to both the ecab starter pack that I got and also a page with a little more information about the batteries I'm using. I'm not doing this to promote any product or anything, just trying to get some info.

Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

Pretty sure the eCab has some battery protection. Honestly, I don't think there's very much to worry about. The eCab shouldn't be any more dangerous than your cell phone or any one of the other countless devices we use today with li-ion batteries. Sure there are defective batteries out there, and some bad apple brands, but as far as I know Joyetech is a trustworthy company.

Nice to see someone else with the eCab. I'm glad to hear your liking it. I've had issues with leaking and have switched to the eCab clearomizer which seems to produce slightly inferior vapor, but for me is worth not having to deal with juice all over the place.
