New to vaping. Got my first device last week. Went with the EGO ONE. 1100mah battery + 2.5 tank.

Im experiencing leaking from the air intake slots. Also the air intake is really hard to remove when filling. I have to wrap a thick rubber band around it to get traction. I notice the leaking if I'm almost out of juice or i think i filled it too high the one time. I was also getting drips of liquid from the mouth piece into my mouth when vaping. Too stop the leaking i take it completely apart and clean everything with a cue tip and tissues but cleaning the air intake is a pain and still shows some condensation.

I read other posts under the EGO ONE topic about others experiencing leaking.

After I finish the five 1.0 coils i bought i think I'm going to get the kanger subtank nano. Anyone experience any leaking with that? Any other recommendations for a clearomizer that fits flush with the EGO battery? I like how you can see the liquid in the kanger nano. Filling the ego one is kind of a pain. But i do love the look of the ego one tank. Kind of upset it leaks otherwise its perfect.

I bought the tank from myvaporstore.com and they said to send it back in, which doesn't help me because i won't have anything to vape and i haven't smoked a cigarette in a full week. So myvaportstore's customer service doesn't seem to helpful. Maybe I did get a faulty tank but I see others having the same problem.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks !!

The vendor is offering you a solution. You could go to a BM store and buy a cheapie to tide you over and send your kit back. Although, it would be nice if they replaced it and allowed you to send yours back.

    Welcome to the forum, btw....:)

    Hi Adam,

Welcome to ECF, I'm pretty new here as well, but I do have an Ego One (2200mAh with 2.5ml tank). I've had some minor leaking issues with mine, mainly when I chain vape and also like you when the tank is nearing empty but it doesn't make it unusable. I have only used the 0.5 ohm coils so far. I also keep it topped up for fear of getting a dry hit.

First thing I would check is that the coil is firmly screwed into the base. The first two times I opened up the atomiser, the coil stayed with the tank rather than the base.

The second (and biggest) concern I have is where you say "the air intake is really hard to remove"; I assume you mean the base. This sounds like a threading issue, could it be threaded? Mine is smooth, I do it up tight, but it is no problem to undo.

As for using a Subtank-Nano with the Ego One battery, from the YT videos I have seen it looks like a good fit. I have a Subtank-Mini with 0.5 coils and I prefer to run them around 24 Watts on my iStick 30W, I get better flavour. I have tried the Mini on my Ego One battery, but the flavour is not as good when the Ego-One battery is fully charged (4.2Volts/35Watts). If you use the 1.2 Ohm coils with the Subtank Nano you will get around 15 watts with a fully charged Ego One battery. I prefer the Subtank 1.2 ohm coil at 13W. But of course all of this is personal preference.

Before you send back the Ego One for replacement, consider this.... get a second tank and battery. Personally I would recommend a VW mod (like the iStick 30W) with the Subtank Nano. The advantage with a regulated mod is that you will be able to dial in the wattage to your preferred throat hit/flavour. You will be able to see the precise Ohms of your coil, you will have a backup device when you run out of battery power and you can run two different flavours.

I actually run 3 setups for maximum flexibility.

    Good luck

Yep, I had the same problem as you with the ONE tank, I didn't buy the kit, just the tank. Perhaps, email MVS asking if you could just get a store credit applied to the Subtank Nano and return the ego ONE when you get the Nano. Doesn't hurt to ask. MyVaporStore has always been awesome with me.

In one of the other leaking eGo ONE threads, a member posted a pic of a Subtank Nano slapped onto the eGo ONE battery, and it was a perfect fit.

Oh, wait, I just found it here: Post #164.

EDIT: After looking at the pics again, I can see that the battery slightly overhangs the tank's base, but it's very little.

Ah yeah I saw that. I now know I'm looking for a diameter of 19mm. Any other clearomizer suggestions besides the sub tank nano? Anything that doesn't leak and has a clear view of the liquid & easier to fill.

Well, I am using two Nautilus Minis and I cannot complain, neither of them leak or flood. Once in a while, I'll get a gurgle, but it's easy to clear by tipping up the battery momentarily. However, the draw will be tighter than the eGo ONE tank. Anyways, I have a Subtank Nano on the way as a replacement for the eGo ONE tank.

All clearos will leak a little depending how they are handled ie. overtightening, overfilling, cold temps, hot temps, etc.
Everything vape related requires experience and patience generally.
Don't fall into the trap of buying more and more stuff and not learn how to best use each device.
Considering how popular these things are and how many we hear are leaking, chances are high that a good portion of the leaking reports are due to user error.

If all the seals are in good shape and present, and the device is properly assembled it won't leak under normal use.

Not sayin' it's user error in this case, did it leak from day 1, one week ain't a long time. Cheers.

On mine, the coil seemed to just flow and flow and flow, loading up the air flow control portion of the tank. So, for some reason my tank was loosing its vacuum. I think my tank either was cracked somewhere I couldn't see, or leaking where the top seal of the coil contacts the chimney, or juice was seeping directly through the cotton portion of the coil. I couldn't determine where exactly the leak was, and I got sick of wasting so much juice looking.

Well there are two seals on the coil, a o-ring at the top and one at the bottom.
Did you try switching out the o-rings from the spare coil to see does it solve the problem?

The other issue could be related with the cotton packing in the coil itself. After breaking down both of my coils to remove the silicon fibre material - really don't fancy having that s**t in there. I've notice the sub-ohm coil's have less cotton packing, it's much looser compared to the stock 1.0 ohm - You'll need a pair of long nose pliers to take the top off to gain access, if you want to tinker, also remove the base contact and the silicon bung to free the other end of the coil...

I'm also new to vaping! In addition I got this eGo ONE just a few days ago with an exchange from another eGo ONE and with this second swap, I'm again experiencing leaking. I was advise to take slower draws and not to chain vape which I'm doing now. So, I'm not sure what to do at this point, but as y'all can see from the picture below, it's leaking. Please...any help, advise...greatly appreciate it! Thanks

I have an eGo One XL and added a subtank nano. I like to switch flavors so I go between the eGo tank and the nano. The nano is leaps and bounds better than the eGo. I only had a little trouble with leaking and I think it was because I overfilled it. It's so hard to see when it's full when you have a clear liquid. I'm planning on getting a second nano once I have the funds. Vape Super Saver has a great price on them with free super-quick shipping.
