Just got one a couple of hours ago so I have no room to add any significant information...BUT this thing feels so small in my hands after using big box mods not to mention after having an Atlantis/CF mod setup.

Side charging, great structural build and design, nice airy (yes it whistles) draw, not huge cloud production like Atlantis but clouds aren't why I bought this. I wanted a pocket-portable warm vape with above-decent vapor production and fluid style. Felt like I was taking a gamble with learning a new coil system but if the coil lasts a week I will be satisfied.

The thing looks good. I will be buying a pack of .5 coils for it ASAP. I know I will prefer the .5 over the 1.0. Great vape so far. I'll see how I feel about it in a week.

Hey, Astron, thanks for the info. I look forward to hearing your results. I just bought an Atlantis/CF Sub Ohm setup, but this ego one is so tempting--like it's calling me.

IMO if you like the Atlantis setup then you'll like the Ego One (coil life permitting). It's like a mini-Atlantis all stainless steel.

With any luck I'll be back raving about it! Man I'll be so happy if I finally have a reasonable grab-and-go device.

First foible (user error not to be impossible):

Unscrewing the tank from the battery, the coil wants to stay attached to the chimney of the tank (like what happens with the Nautilus sometimes). When I went to unscrew the coil from the chimney, the bottom pin (I don't know the technical terms, my apologies) holding in the legs of the coil wanted to come out so I had to push the pin back in. I put the base of the tank (coil attached) onto my Sigelei to read if I'd messed up the ohms. It read .7 (coil is .5). Not sure what that means but the Ego One is Vaping fine.

Sadly, my .5 coil came apart.

Refilled the tank and when I screwed the .5 coil (inside the tank) back onto the battery, nothing happened when I fired to vape. Unscrewed the tank and took the .5 coil out and the coil had come undone inside...by that I mean the coil had actually uncoiled and wasn't making contact with the wicking material. It was ruined :(

I installed the 1.0 coil and it works. Thankfully I've already ordered a new pack of .5 coils. Call me the optimist...it was a great vape for all of the three hours I had the .5 coil.

I ordered the battery and topper individually so I did not get a 1ohm head. How does the 1ohm work? I ordered .5 but I am thinking either ordering another topper and choosing 1ohm or getting a pack of 1ohm.

This sounds like the Joye coils may not be as sturdy as the Aspire coils. I've had the coils stay in the chimney of my Nautilus Mini before, and then I just unscrewed them and put them back into the base with no worries.

I am not much of a reviewer but I wanted to list the points on this thing.

Positve
It is an awesome grab n go device.
Vapor production is respectable
Great flavor. Most flavor I have gotten from a clearomizer.
Inexpensive
.5ohm and 1ohm heads available for different output.
5 click on / off is a nice feature for a mech style battery
2 battery capacities to choose from
No problems and still on my first coil (~15ml through it this far)
Solid construction
Handles chain vaping perfectly

Negative
Hard to fill in dim light. Extremely hard to fill with a glass dropper
Hard to see liquid level in dim light
Only silver has been released so far. A black one will make it stealth vapable.
Only 2.5ml capacity (Which is awesome for it's size but low if you needed to use it for a long time)

I am extremely happy with this purchase. I did not really have a grab and go device and now I won't do without one.

Can anyone clear this up for me, maybe I've missed something - is the EGO ONE battery regulated? I mean constant voltage to atty until empty?
Thanks.

R

EDIT: Alright, this says it already. Thanks.

It's like a mech with some safeguards

So would it be safe to say, that one should always keep the battery at above 50%?

With the .5 ohm head at 3.4v you will get 23w which is still very very vapable so no need to sweat the charge. Don't forget you can charge and use but I assume you are limited to the current charge of the battery not direct from the charger.

I used mine as a passthrough for about five puffs before I decided the battery was getting too warm. So I won't be using mine as a passthrough.

I put the Ego One tank on my MVP 20 Watt (of course using the 1.0 coil). At 18 watts it produces great flavor and alright vapor. It's a nice durable setup, tho.

So I just got a Vaporshark DNA30 and I of course tested the ego clearomizer on it. It has a nice slightly warm vape at 27w. Fits the dna perfectly (and they are releasing a black one) The clearomizer on its on is great quality. It is a .5ohm/1ohm availble clearo with solid construction and a 2.5ml capacity. You get all that for $15 dollars. When the black releases Ill be picking one up for my dna. Here are some pics...

That is an IPV v2, eGo one 1100 battery, DNA30 with eGo one clearomizer, 18650 battery

I used mine passthrough and it was a bit warm but no danger level warm for me. There is a lot less material between the battery and shell than normal mods so it should seem a little warmer than normal. I will keep an eye on it.

I would like to add looking at the .5 vs 1 coils it looks like the 1ohm will have less airflow.

This is my first Joyetech product but this product to me holds up to their reputation

Well I got my pack of .5 coils in. Plugged one in and Vaping like a champ. I'm going to be delicate with these new coils...don't want a repeat of what happened to my first .5!

No problems with the 1.0 at all. Good performance, no burning hits, great flavor five days in (beats the Aspire Nautilus BVC by a mile!)

I love the size and the USB charging port, also the battery capacity indicator is a good thing. But how does it do in the area of leaking, flooding, gurgling, and spitting juice drops in the mouth? How does it perform compared to a Nautilus Mini or an Atlantis?

I also wonder what the wick material is made of . . .

It does spit juice and gurgles....I'v had it for weeks now and am figuring out why. It's probably the juice I use (100VG) and my strong draw as a newby vapor. After some rewicking, a softer draw and a tissue clean up after the Ego One has sat overnight, things are improving.
So despite all the rave reviews from a lot of others here: it does has flaws in this area.
