I would love to do that being a genny person myself with plenty of 325, 400 and 500 mesh laying around. I just have no concept of what you are doing. Sounds rad though. I might play around with it a bit. You dont have a vid on it do you? I mean, you have to wrap a coil around it right? I dont even know how they come apart. I suppose it will look something like the GTUS in the end, which I have also.

Im not really a steel mesh having kind of guy, so id have to order some to try. Is it worth the money? Where do you get it?
I just ripped an atomizer apart, mistakingly from the bottom first. But now that i see how the top part holds the wick, i can definitely not ruin anymore lol. Do you roll the mesh up a bit? I hate burnt wick such as when you dont realize your tank is empty and blech, ruined.

no leave the actual coil alone.. just pop the spike out, and pull the wick out of the spike then replace with mesh.put the spike back in and vape away. im using 325 for pure vg juices if your a higher pg 400 might work well... its a 5 min mod, I can chain vape a tank from full to empty and not get a dry hit... be sure to oxidize. and no flooding either, that was my main concern, before I tried it. .... and steel mesh is super cheap, and available allot of locations these days because of genny's.. ill take a pic and post.

So how tight should the mesh fit in the spike. How long, do you have it? Way up into the bottle or just the top of the spike or somewhere in the middle. Im about to try this but wanna have as few attempts as I can muster to get it working right.
Do you have it rolled solid or with a small holl in the mesh.
EDIT: Ok, here is what I got. At first I had the wick all the way to the bottom, past the coil. I think I got a little burn taste but I pulled it back up and its now (I think) at the top of the coil and it taste fine. This is pretty gnarly. Everyone that likes mesh should try it. Im actually using 500 mesh since I already had a wick laying around from another project that didnt take off

not sure how much help this is but here is a pic......yes I left a small hole in center. I rolled a long wick put it in then i stick it back on the atty and let it sort its own length out, then cut on a diagonal with the spike shape, its a little longer than the spike itself. as I say it took me a couple of tries to get the wick perfect but mesh is cheap. I start with a 25mmx40mm square cut in half 25x20 and rolled from there I think, its been about a week since I rolled a steel wick for one, I had an attie that I thought started tasting funny, so i just took the wick and spike I was using and moved it to another atty and it still going,

Thanks for the idea. Ill keep playing with it and see what works best for me. I have mine with the wick entering the tank just a little bit where you can see it above the cone.
I want to see a vid of how you do it! I have a PG sensitivity so all VG for me. I ding that after the atty heats up a bit the juice flows fine. It's the first few hits that aren't so good- recommend in the cold weather to keep the eRoll in your pocket!

Do you already know how to oxidize and roll a wick? If you dont you can find hundreds of vids on youtube.
Once the wick is made, just pull the pointy part off. It may even be possible to pull the wick out without removing the tip. It would be tuff though Im guessing. Then you just put the mesh wick in the hole where the silica wick was. Thats it. Its as easy as it gets. I have a solid wick but it isnt rolled super tight. I used 500 but sounds like 325 will work great also. I pulled the pointy part off with two pairs of pliers. One on the top and one holding the bottom. It came out with medium force.
I like the rolled wick into the tank... just only concern is giving up the juice capacity in return, not sure how much volume would be lost, but I believe the longer wick might give you more leeway on how well the wick is rolled.

I picked up a 5 pack of LR atomizers yesterday. The first one out of the box lasted for 2 puffs and died. The second one tastes burnt. I added juice to the wick before installing it just like I have on all my others. Anyone run into this ? How is everyone else cleaning theirs? It seems after a week or so my vapor production goes way down.
One of my original attys died today. Like you I had bought the 5 pack of LR's. put juice on the wick and let it sit- tasted burned. Pulled the cart off and pushed it back on and all is normal now.
Idk how long you get with regular attys but i have one thats 2 months old now going strong and has not been cleaned or messed with to maintain in any way. 80/20 juice from wordupecig seems to make all my devices last forever. I tried some 50/50 and it didnt wick fast enough and burned a bit, but i put regular juice back in and its fine

I am STILL on the first atty. A while ago, there I was puffing away as usual, when suddenly I get this burnt taste. Yuck! Flashbacks from my old eGo-T days lol...
Anyway, I get out new atties and stuff, dismantle my eRoll ready to put in a new atty, but then decide to try something first. I wash my atty under running hot water. Shake it out, blow through it, then blow some more using canned air, add a few drops ejuice and wait a minute or so. First puff or two still had a slightly not so nice taste. After that I forgot about it as my phone rang and I got busy with something else, and my eRoll was back to 'good as new' condition.
Later I return to my vape station still happily vaping on my eRoll. Tidy up by discarding tissues, and packing away the new and unused atties - and the canned air.

No carto. It comes with an atty and little tank. The same atty as the eGo-C.
I know I call the tank on this a carto but I think everyone k ows it's a tank. I said burnt but maybe more of a dry hit. Pulling the tank off and pushing it back on seems to posh the liquid into the atty which resolved things for me. I'm using all VG and find that the eRoll needs to stay warm with my setup or it goes not wick very well.
Sorry for the typos- using an iPhone and it is Autocorrecting my to begin with bad finger pushes.
