eVic Control Head Recall Notice

From the joyetech website:
"Dear All Valued Customers,

Confirmed by laboratory of joyetech, due to components change in production, eVics produced during 2012-12-16 to 2012-12-18 may have a functional defect---the control head will delay its work after you press the enter button.

After careful deliberation, to be responsible for customer satisfaction of normal use, to keep the brand integrity of joyetech, we decide to recall these potential faulty eVic control heads.

Device Serial Number:
212160001-212161370
212170001-212172500
212180001-212181031

Recall method:

1. Distributors check the stock immediately to confirm if they have products within the Device Serial Number section and Package Serial Number section listed above.
2. Distributors return these potential faulty products to our company.
3. Consumers may free exchange their control heads by their vendors with invoice and fully packaged products.
4. Distributors proclaim this recall notice clearly on homepage or on off-line shop windows
5. Distributors should finish the recall within the deadline.
6. For more detailed information, you may visit our official website www.joyetech.com or send an email to service@joyetech.com

They don't list the package serial numbers but are asking vendors to check & return units? Must the vendors open up all the packages to read the unit's serial numbers? This is really half thought out.

The unit(head)'s serial# is 9 digits - the box's serial# has 12 digits but I think the last 3 are for accessories. I've sent an email to Joyetech for confirmation.
