Joyetech's response..

"Thanks for your email to us. I am Karen from Joyetech Marketing Department, nice to meet you.

Yes, the package serial numbers are 12 digits. Device serial numbers are 9 digits for control head inside, not the first 9 digits of the package serial number.

Now device series number have been published on News of our website for customers reference. And we also have sorted out the package series number and informed relative distributors. When recalling the device, kindly please collect all the following information from the customer: package series number, security code and device series number, and please remember to have a check before recall. Meanwhile, these data also need to be organized into a form and then sent to Joyetech company, so that we can confirm the amount of the device recalled.

If any other query please contact with us freely.
Best Regards"

I was wrong! Again!

The last laugh is on those folks who got in on co-ops, I guess. Good luck getting THOSE units replaced/fixed...

Not sure what is laughable about a member of our community receiving a faulty or recalled device.

Seems like it would be more normal to be sad over an unfortunate event happening to anyone here.

Guess I don't understand your post.

Meanwhile, it's Joyetech, and whether bought in coop or not, they will stand by replacing the faulty serial numbered devices from their distributors as well as end-users. I'm sure that Joyetech doesn't wish any kind of misfortune on their customers.

it a recall of some device big deal it happens at least this is a reputable company that will do something about it, cant say the same for that vamo POC and other bargain buy device out there.

Pretty much this. We're so used to cheap stuff coming out of China and basically being stuck with the device if it's not performing properly. At least Joyetech is doing the responsible thing here, especially since the problem for which the recall was issued doesn't sound like a critical one (i.e. it's not dangerous, just sort of flaky), so they earn a lot of respect from me for that.

My POC Vamo works great

Put it in VW mode, RMS mode (N02), stick a low res (~2ohm) carto on it, use stacked 18350s, and then try it. Chances are pretty good you'll damage or even blow the coil the first time you hit it if you don't do a resistance check before that first firing. I damaged 2 SmokTech LR single coil cartos this way before I more or less figured out what was going on.

I use it only in single 18650/18350 mode--it works for me. Menu system is excellent also(remembers wattage after battery change too)

Mine is a V2 and doesn't remember wattage; this seems to be an issue for some of them. At any rate, I only use it with 18650/1x18350 (mostly in "mini" mode) right now as well, but that's specifically because of the VW/RMS/Stacked problem I mentioned.
