Hello people,

I have couple of questions to ask:
1.
I have a Joyetech evic with Protank 3. Up until last night everything was going great since the past 2 months but all of a sudden today when I changed the coil (I wish there is a ecig system without a coil) I started getting dry hits. I changed the coil shortly after again thinking that may be there is something wrong with the coil but still the same. No flavor and just straight dry hits.

I tried all sort of different settings on the evic but no luck. What do you guys thing the problem could be. What are the recommended settings if any?

I am using the 2.0 ohms coil. The settings says 6.2W and 3.4V. Like I mentioned, I tried different VW's but no luck Please help.

2.
Is there a system or a tank which doesn't use the freakin coils? I am sick of this thing. I would love to have a straight juice tank put it on a battery and start smoking.

Please guys reply in detail to both questions.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome :)

I doubt there is an issue with your EVIC, especially at relatively low setting. PT3 coils should be good to 8w at least.

Now.. these coils. I must have 80+ used ones in my box (all cleaned and 'gutted') and the main thing about them is to prime them, as you might already know. I would actually take out the 'chimney' and drip directly onto the coil(s) before doing anything. If the silica is saturated, you can vape them straight away. If not... the wicking process is as long as a bit of string really. Some liquids will soak in in 5 minutes, others ages, depending on PG/VG ratio etc.etc.

Anyway.. (zzzz)

In the end, I rebuilt them and when I got bored of that, I switched to Mini Nautilus and instead of getting 4 days (average) I get 2 weeks.

There probably isn't an instant "fill and go" tank... all atomizer need some sort of wick and all wicks take some time to prime.

The PT series (the old ones) are not exactly known for having a free flow of liquid... for me (i.m.o.) the PT3 and Mini PT3 (and EVOD 2 and T3D) were the worst tanks they ever made. The dual coils were supposed to improve the vapor, but I just found they needed twice as much juice, twice as much power and often dry-hit twice as much.

Aspire Mini Nautilus doesn't have this, I've had one permanently attached to an EVIC since last August. The vape isn't stellar, but it's reliable. :)

Hi faadi and welcome to ECF!

Did you prime the coil and wait a few minutes for the coil to get wet before starting to vape? What is your vaping technique. Taking slow, smooth draws for about 4-5 seconds is recommended. What's the PG/VG ratio of your juice? Juices high in VG take longer to wick and get the coil wet. Also chain vaping doesn't give enough time between draws for the coil t get wet again, so take a fews seconds to breath between draws :)

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!

Hi and sorry for posting back so late. My intentions were not by getting the answer and disappear away.

First of all, thank you so so much for replying to my thread and the good advices. I think Rsunderl's advice saved me. After throwing away 2 - 2.0ohms coils away, I dug around and found 1.8ohms coil in my supply box. When I tried the 1.8ohms coil, everything is back to normal. As far as me having issue with the 2.0ohms coil, it's either I am using a fake one which CRONICAL mentioned or may be I am not prepping them. I never prepped my coils and it all worked find until this time. I bought these coils from eBay and I asked the seller specifically if they are authentic and he said he gets his stock form Kangertech. Don't know how to find out if they are authentic coils but I have my fingers crossed.

For now this issue has been resolved. Thank you all once again for your help.

Exactly my experience when I used protanks.

They are very hit and miss.
Stick to the single coil versions. You probably have a bad batch of coils. I threw away my protanks and EVOD2 after enough of this, and going through 2 or more coils per day.
