I've read enough that dark juices will dirty these up faster than light juices, but will juices with a higher ratio of VG also do the same thing due to the viscosity? I do have 1 dark juice - chocolate, that I will not be putting in these things. I also switched from 50/50 to 80/20 PG/VG to be on the safe side.

In my experience, yes a higher vg ratio does slowly seem to build up. But it really isn't that bad. No where near as bad as a darker and sweeter juice. Admittedly the only thing I haven't eventually had to clean after is the menthol mania. However, personally, despite the tubes not coming off as easily as a ce2 type, I am finding these really easy to clean. But be aware that other people have had more troubles with cleaning, and then having leaking or popped coils, than I seem to have.

Sent from my G2...so please excuse the spelling errors, correct gets the best of me.

The anwer is "yes" I believe, on both counts: both dark juices and VG will crud up the coils quicker. Personally, however, I don't care. I vape dark, mostly 50% VG juices, because I like them. I clean my Visions and Fluxos about every three refills. But I also have at least 5 of them going at the same time. Haven't had one pop on me yet. However, I did notice that if the coil is well-spread, it cleans better. If the coil is bunched up, not so much. So I check them, and save the bunched up ones for lighter juices.

sometimes its not just the vg content but a combo of the added vg plus flavoring, sometimes the combo of both depending on the flavoring as well can cause some to gunk of faster as well.

i can take the same base and apply to different flavoring, one will gunk up, the other wont, so what people add to the base also changes things. add some sucrose or other powders etc and you have changed your base once again which can also gunk it up

I DIY straight VG for awhile. Even without ANY flavor it gunks the coils. Glycerin is a sugar. And, seems to crystallize on the coil. The straight VG had health issues for me. Made my nose drip lots, and seemed to cough more. I cut it 50/50 w/pg now. Works lots better for me, healthwise and flowing in tanks. VG w/Cinnamon would gunk coils really fast. JMHO

Cheers,

hey otrpu did you try different brands of VG? i have read that certain brands of VG cause some people to caugh a lot. i myself was coughing and hacking (phlemy) a lot and i switched my VG brand and it seemed to help - i am not convinced that was the issue as i have also mostly been using GV guice lately also and less of my DIY stuff.
not sure on the coils i mostly use the dual coils and my visions i am still on my orignal couple and they are still doing great with no cleanings or maintence or whatever.
the oldest ones like a little highter voltage but other than that...
shoot i am scared to fool with them - just fill and vape and fill and vape i love it!

um like august i think ... its a duex i think - i got them when it went to the easy fill seals. and just converted a old v1 with new tube and seal and its good too.
i have more i bought just in case but havent need them... and still on the first regular that came with my stingray kit...
i got more but really i dont need that many full cartos going at once - couple visions and dual coil tank and oh there so many good things sapphire and turbine...
but so far my visions have pretty much made all my other ce2 and tanks and ect obsolete. vision is the way to go for a ce2 type hands down imho...
and of course bad has more new stuff coming might be even better ...

I have asthma, and for awhile had problems with VG as well. Much worse than cigarettes, ironically. I think I figured out what the problem is, though. VG is more viscous, and thus the droplets of vapor are larger than PG, and very much larger then the smoke particulars from a burning cigarette. So I think the reaction is just physical, not chemical - larger particles are more irritating. I mostly got used to it though at this point. Thinner VG doesn't cause as much reaction, too. For instance, Ecopure (which is very thin) is much better than average. Anyways, I do fine with 50/50 blends nowadays.
