I seem to be getting a little juice in the catch cup when I squonk with the Cisco atty. it isn't a lot, and the atty is not flooded, but since I carry my rep in my pocket at work I would like to keep it dry if I can. Maybe this is normal or maybe I am squonking just a little top hard. No juice has ever gotten in my mouth and when I use the bogey cartos the cup stays dry. I think the juice is leaking from the air holes on the atty.

another quick question. How do you know when it is time to clean the atty and what is the best method. Thanks.

Juice can leak from the atty if you have juice in there when you are finished vaping. It works for me to vape until I know the atty is dry before putting it down. I know that is tricky to do if you are just vaping from one PV. You can buy a washer to scoot down over the atty and into the cup. It keeps the juice in. Check this out:http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/227482-how-i-fight-keep-clean-catch-cup.html#post4228584

Some people will remove the atty and rinse it out each night. You can use a high proof alcohol or just plain water. Some only clean them once a week.

I use to clean my attys all the time. I found out that for me just using them and doing a little dry burn if they seem to be producing less vapor works well.

It's a lot more common to have a little juice in the catch cup with an atty than with a cartomizer. With the cartos, the extra juice is easily absorbed up into it. With an atty, it can happen. That's actually what the catch cup is for....it's doing it's job. :) There is a post somewhere about someone using an o-ring to sort of block the juice....at least trap it in the catch cup. I'll see if I can find it.

Blot the catch cup dry, then watch the cup while you squonk for a time or two so you get a feel for it. When you see the first little bit of juice down around the connector, then stop. Maybe you're over-squonking a bit. Also, after you've squonked, go ahead and vape it out...usually 3-4 good hits, so that when you leave the REO sitting, the atty is "dry." I always tried to leave the atty in a position where I would need to squonk again when I picked it up again. Not sure that makes sense.

Also, if you aren't already, you could get used to blind squonking..Someone will come along (probably Nerak.... :)) to explain that if you need. (I have to leave for work now and need to go brush my teeth!! Sorry if this is no help.)

Its normal for sure. I used cisco attys for over a year and always had juice in the cup.

Lucky for me I had several REOs so I always kept one with a cartomizer on it for out and about. A cartomizer means almost always a dry catch cup.

Not much you can do about the juice there if you use an atomizer unless you get a rebuildable some or most of those hold the juice in the atty and don't leak out to the cup. Ones with side air holes like the Chalice keep the cup clean all the time.

As far as cleaning I would keep 10 or 15 attys in rotation and put a fresh one on each day and throw the used one in the clean pile. Then I would clean once a week. That is another reason I used cartomizers back then as well.

Now all I use is rebuildable atomizers and just spend the 3 minutes to make a new coil/wick when it starts tasting off.
I can actually make a new atty quicker than I could clean one back in the day :D

Thanks for the responses everyone. Based on what you have said I think what I am seeing is normal. I guess I could stick to the cartos while at work, but I really like the atty's. did I understand correctly that with RBA's there is usually no juice in the cup?

I am fine with the small amount of juice that sits there I just want to avoid juice in my pocket. I think I need to get a holster so I can keep my reo upright.

I only use Cisco Atties at work. I never have juice in my well. If there is juice in your well try blind squonking. Squeeze bottle while gently drawing on atty without pressing power. Stop as soon as you feel it tighten up. If you still get juice in your well you are over squonking.i found some cell holsters that work really well for me if that helps u some.

Hi Justice, thanks for your tips. I have been blind squonking and I have it down great with the cartos. I can feel the change in pressure and I have not flooded any yet, catch cup is always dry. The Cisco attys seem to be harder for me as I don't feel a pressure change, I just hear a slight gurgle and stop. The atty isn't flooding and I am not getting any juice in my mouth just a little in catch cup. I think my problem may be that I am not vaping the juice up fast enough and I was putting my reo back in my pocket and it would tilt enough that the juice would leak out a bit. I probably just need a little more practice with those.

I have been very happy with how quickly I picked up blind squonking with the cartos so I will just keep at it. The joye 510 atty did not leave any juice in the cup, but I prefer the taste from the Cisco. For now I am going to just use the cartos at work and switch to the viscosity at home. I am looking for a decent holster for my reo so if you have a good suggestion that would be great. I saw the thread on Serenity gear and I am considering one of those, but they are a bit pricey.
