If I take a premixed 50pg/50vg solution and just start throwing drops of flavoring in there until I like it .. that'll work, right?

To start simple and cheap, this is the plan. Please tell me if I'm going to blow something up:

1. 50/50 from MBV or somewhere reliable
2. One (1) flavor
3. Mix six (6) individual 15ml bottles of one flavor each
4. 0 nic for this experiment
5. Possibly going to play with sweetener..so add a drop of that, too

After I learn what flavors I like I plan to keep about half a dozen well stocked because I'm quickly learning that buying a little bit here and a little bit there (shipping costs and waiting) can be more expensive in the long run. THEN I can start adding the nicotine and adding my flavors together.

To be honest, I kinda like mixing flavors in the clearo itself . . Drop, inhale "mm.. where's the mocha?" drop drop drop, inhale "There it is.. yeahhh". lol

flavors will get stronger, weaker or develop a different note when they sit. what may taste ok fresh may be many times stronger then what is actually needed to achieve that flavor, and may turn out to be overpoweringly nasty in a few days.
also every drop you add will lower the nic level (you are thining out the juice)

the best way is to mix some up wait a few days then try it.

make sure you get into the DIY section here and downlaod a good calculator like ejuicemeup, many tips, trick, help and even recepes to be found in the DIY section as well as flavor suppliers.

always take notes (so you can make it again)

its pretty easy, and can be super cheap and very rewarding. i love it. my faves come out to roughly around 5 bucks a pint to make lol (about 16 30ml bottles)

I was actually trying to avoid the calculators. : -\ While I understand that being careful with the nicotine is vital (I want off of it anyway), it seems the worst you can do with the other ingredients is make something that tastes bad. Yes?
yea pretty much but like moonlit says its very easy to use. put in the amounts press calculate and theres what you need to use. looks intimidating at first but its not.

I've been mixing flavors from day one because I hated some of my juice but was desperate to quit smoking, but I do it in the actual clearo. For instance, I have a buttery flavor that tones down Afternoon Delight nicely.. because Aft Delight was kicking my .... and needed smoothing out.

Because flavors develop and change I'd prefer to have several bottles with *one* flavor each and then mix when I vape so I can control what I"m getting.

I like beans in my chili.

I do not like beans in my e-liquid.

I like beans in my chili, too, but once you put them in the pot you are now required to call the subsequent concoction "A melodious blend of savory peppers, meat and beans." Not chili.

As for juice... hm.. a thick, rich chili taste would be awesome. :)

Well if You have a system You're happy with by all means continue to do so! I myself have done what You are doing, except instead of directly in the clearo I used empty bottles I had laying around.

I didn't have any bottles lol... No syringes, no bottles, no nothing but a lot of mess and used up paper towels. In my MBV shopping basket I have about 1/2 dozen empty 15ml bottles along with some pg/vg and 2-3 flavorings. I'm just waiting to pull the trigger when I'm sure I have what I need.

There's also an atomizer and drip tip in there because I WILL conquer this dripping thing so I can enjoy all my little concoctions. :)

sooner later You will have all these things and more hanging around. I know the empty bottles are pretty cheap (prices do vary from place to place as with everything) but hold on to the ones YOu bought with juice as You empty them, give them a good cleaning You never know when they will come in handy

yes.

I have mixed a couple that should be named "Old gym socks soaked in skunk crotch sweat." And a few that are absolute nirvana. And a couple times failed to write down that nirvana. Never could duplicate it.

Mix how you like. A dash of this, a drop, no, maybe 2 of that.
Enjoy. You can complicate however much you like later.

That's what I did too to salvage some flavors I didn't quite like. Then mixing 2 liquids in the bottle. Then full blown DIY.

I've never made chili in my life, so I can't really compare, but it's sounds like you're going to love DIY.

Speaking of mixing flavors, i made test batches about two weeks ago. Pizza, Cola, Green Apple, Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Peanut Butter and Clove.
I made 5ml of each. They were close enough to what I wanted so with minor adjustments I made 30ml of each. And with that I had about 2ml each of the original test bathes left over, I dumped them all into one bottle. I haven't tried it yet.
