hey, folks.

i have a triton that i've been using for a month or so, with several batteries and tanks. i like it a lot, but i'm still getting the hang of it. i keep having one problem - no matter what i do or what tank i use, i always end up with the e liquid pooled around the battery, and a gurgling sound on the draw! new tanks will be fine for the first few minutes, but i always seem to have that annoying gurgling. i've tried cleaning and drying the tanks and soaking up the liquid around the battery, but it just keeps happening. it must be something i am doing wrong, because it's definitely not just a faulty tank or two.

i am careful to not over fill them, and i make sure the coil is screwed in tightly.

do you have any tips on how to avoid this?

thanks a bunch.

Perhaps the inner condom at the top of the chimney is too far up. The bottom of the sillycone condom should touch the wicks. Too high and liquid will flood in. Too low, and the liquid can't get in, resulting in dry hits.

I find if I lube the condom with a little saliva or juice, it'll slip on and find its "home."

(And I almost always have a pool of juice at the last few draws of a near depleted battery.)

I have to agree with Dave.
Had the same issue, but once I watched the condom just start to press on the wicks the gurgling and leakage stopped. I find that those condoms only last about a month. Mine lost their shape and contact after a month which I fixed by putting a new coil/wick assemble on that also comes with new condom.

The other thing that happens, is as the voltage on the battery falls off, it doesnt fully vaporize everything enough, and you get condensation in the top of the coil that will slowly drip down the chimney into the battery post.

The other thing you can do, to help too, is to make sure you continue to inhale for a moment or two after you take your finger off the fire button. Not only will this clear the coil area of vapor that can possibly condensate, but it will also help your coils cool quicker... which is a good thing.

Good points, Chesty and Fallen.

Remember, don't hit it hard and quick, like a cig. Long slow draws work best.

Also this. Remember when you first started using a computer? How the computer would do weird stuff even the tech gurus couldn't figure out? But after a while, the computer calmed down and got used to you. I think it's the same with the ecigs. Mine used to flood and pool a lot when I first started. Now, very seldom do I have those problems. idk, maybe a bit of attention to the wicks/condoms? Knowing when the battery is almost out, before it blinks at me. It's ok to charge a battery when you want to. No harm.

And again, welcome!!

i think i have probably been drawing too hard. i've started just "sipping" on it instead of sucking (ahem), and it's alleviated most of my issues. thanks, you guys, for all the info. you rock. :)

no problem, keep the questions coming, none are too silly, trust me.. we all asked em and we will all answer em.

Welcome Carophil, all the Halons have given you really great advice for your problem. One that might be over looked is what I did in the beginning. When I first started vaping I kept the clear mouth piece condom on the tip between vapes. This will increase the condensation in your tank especially the tube leading to your battery. So if your putting on the mouth tip condom I'd suggest leaving it off. :D
