I feel lucky. The only juice I've found that I can not vape is Maple Bacon (can't remember where I got it) and a couple of my friends tried it and liked it. I've got several that are meh and I use occasionally just to go through them (peanut butter cup being one now, it's not horrible but it's not really good).

Taste is very subjective, think of it this way, if we all liked the same things there wouldn't be all those different flavours anyway. I was lucky that I found a flavour I liked pretty early but I know others that are 6 months in and still looking for the one for their sweet spot.
Like others have said, try getting small sample packs and rather than wasting cartos, try dripping them, if you don't like them straight off them put them aside for a month or so and try them again, your tastes may have changed. I know you have said you don't fancy the food/sweet flavours but don't write them off completely, I found this the key to keeping me off analogs since I got away from the association (tobacco flavour = analog, it just didn't work for me but sweet food ones work a charm).
Starting out is an expensive learning curve with the expence of finding a PV set up to suit and then a juice but once you find something that works it can be plain sailing, you will then concentrate on building up supplies of what you like and replace consumable parts as and when and it will be costing you a fraction of the what you were spending but in the mean time you just have to keep trying.
Good luck and have faith that your perfect vape is just around the corner.

After relying on a local store that got me started with vaping, I decided to try others out there. My first stop was gotvape's almonette.

Huge mistake.

From their description: A special blend of Amaretto which was blended to be spot on without any up or down liquor taste, Just the right amounts of brown sugar to sweeten it up, Formulated to be vapeable and delish, we then splashed a creamy almond and mixed this until neither overpowered each other, Its smooth, tasty and delish."

Tasted like bitter burnt plastic, literally. I guess it really is subjective but I won't be ordering from them again.

Also remember that if you are just starting out, your taste buds will be changing. What tastes awful to you now might taste great six months from now, so hang on to it. You can also doctor juices you don't like by adding other juices to them so they aren't wasted (for example if you have a tobacco that makes you cringe, you can add hazelnut or vanilla or caramel to it until it is vape-worthy.

When I first started, I was positive I would only want tobacco flavors. I bought a bunch of them and the only ones I liked at all were more caramel or vanilla based tobaccos. Now I never vape tobacco. Although I had stopped smoking, when I had my morning coffee, I wasn't quite satisfied with what I was vaping. I kept trying samples until I found one that completely hit the spot and now that's what I vape most of the time, only changing up for a little variety once in awhile. You might find that you only want to vape tobacco flavors, but most vapers end up loving the bakery and candy and fruit flavors more or at least as much. Be open to all possibilities and if you see a sample pack that offers food flavors you especially like, give them a try. When I first started, my chief complaint was that it was all too sweet, but I found a vape that is sweet and salty at the same time and I love it. The sweetness doesn't bother me anymore and I love flavors like Swedish Fish for an occasional treat.

Good luck and have fun trying new flavors.

Sample packs are great. Also, if you vape shops in your area, check them out. My local shop has a tasting bar. I was able to find a couple e-liquids I liked to get me started. Now I have sample packs coming in and am hoping to find several things I like. I usually stick with tobacco flavors, because the fruit flavors I've tried didn't taste good. Maybe when my taste buds are in working order again, I'll branch out....LOL

Here's a link where you can check for vape shops in your area....
