Hi and welcome,
Where are you located?
What device are you using?(mod/topper?)
How long did you smoke and how many per day?
Are you still smoking?
What flavours have you tried/liked?
Avoid "savory" flavours. (roast chicken, bacon, pizza, ketchup, etc.)

Cheers
I
Wait... they have bacon?
Although it sounds awful and you have warned us, I’m still intrigued.

Actually overall diyers are the minority, we just talk louder.

Ha. Fair enough. I've been away for quite a while - I just remember when I was fairly active here, the answers I would get to similar questions of that asked by the OP were usually DIY related. It's understandable because it really is much cheaper and the options are limitless, but some of us are just too lazy!

I've always wondered about DIY juices. I just have too much going on to try it but I've always wanted to. Is it relatively easy? I'm somewhat new to all of this...
If you're new to vaping, I would say not to start off trying to make your own until you get used to what you like that is commercially available. I vaped for about a year before I started mixing my own.

1. I DIY
2. I get free stuff
3. I buy the real premium liquids on special deals.

What you don't want to buy is run of mill liquid that some greedy 'brand' products sell calling it premium, when it isn't either by taste or quality.

Basically, last time I looked, there are almost NO companies that sell hardware that really sell premium e-liquid.

I will let Halo off, as they are an exception to the rule. Their liquids are good, it's madness to suggest not, but as a business... nope, they are not getting my money.

If you were to 'google' the best e-cigs in America, you would get all the usual overhyped, overpriced and surreptitiously 'recommended brands' that win lots of awards on evil & biased so-called independent review sites.
Don't believe a word of it.

Vaporfi, V2, Apollo.... well, you get my drift.

Do Cosmic, Kilo, Charlie's chalk dust, Cuttwood and Element sell hardware? Nope. They are spending their time making juice and getting it right.

This is definitely sound advice. If your vape palate is still "developing," the last thing you want is large quantities of stuff you won't use.

On the other hand, a 30ml bottle of commercial juice can cost you $10-20. The flavors I buy are usually only about $3-4, so it didn't cost me much if I didn't like some. So if you don't overmix on flavors you're not sure of, it can actually be cheaper to sample diy flavors than juice.

I diy unflavored as the closest to what I vaguely remember smoking to taste like.

My wife uses Heathers Heavenly Vapes tobaccos (for the last 5 years).

From experience years ago, Mt Baker is nice for a cheaper more simple flavor palate (they have more brands these days). EC Blends has more nuanced flavors. The Vapor Room had a tobacco I liked called Ginger's tobacco. Heather's has some good fruits like Crackberry and Sweet Swish (cherry tobacco) and Georgia Peach tobacco.

I DIY I AM NOT A LOUDMOUTH!!!!

oh shut up, Anna, even YOU aren't listening to that nonsense.

To be fair, had I not been PG sensitive and also NOT been like, a dilettante vaper for like 7 years I would have probably started DIY later on, it's just the ah hah ha "Mythical" (only because I insiste on getting my Nic for Life and too many flavors) well that was calling to me.

I'd probably suggest like, finding a few ADV flavors premade you can enjoy and turn to in times of need, first.

There is many a time I have exhausted a favored DIY flavor and gone "I wish I could just go buy it not wait six weeks for steeping). Storebased does have SOME advantages. etc.

Welcome and glad you joined.
It's kind of difficult to start out DIY'g when you are still trying out new equipment and establishing your taste favorites. One shot flavors are starting to gain momentum for those interested in mixing their own and want to start out simple. One shot flavors (OS/Flavor Blends) are premixed flavors that are only designed to be used on their own and mixed with a base of Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin and Nicotine (at least one/two/all of the three). One shot mixing is supposed to be close to the flavor promoted on the bottle. These mixes may allow some adjustment of the strength (percentage) of the mix. OS Mixing can be a good introductory to DIY. One shots and flavor blends are simply added per directions to the mixer's desired mixing base, Shake and Vape (SnV) or steep as directed.
