Juices... how long do they need to set?

I ordered some custom juices last week... I'm not saying I don't love them - but, there's something a bit "off" about all of them (different flavors, different suppliers - no 1 in particular) I've read on here that sometimes they need to sit or set or marinate or whatever.... how long does that take? Everything I've ordered was sorta creamy extra sweet stuff and I'm just not tasting it. They're all... chemicalish. I had this one from The Vapor Room a few weeks ago - French Vanilla - it arrived so flavorful and smooth... :p I killed it in like 3 days. Then I went crazy ordering similar stuff from other places... but none arrived tasting anything even close to that one. Lesson learned or do I just need to sit and relax?

For what it is worth, I've had some come in tasting a bit "off" and have managed to get them to settle down by pumping a little air into the bottle & waiting a day or so. If you want to try it, just hold the bottle upright and squeeze the air out of it a few times.

My suspicion is that either the juices had a little excess flavoring in them or that the O2 in the air broke the flavoring down a little.

Good luck!

Usually if it's somebody that mixes custom flavors, letting them sit can help. It's really hard to tell sometimes. One way I judge, and I could be wrong, but if I'm able to adjust the PG and VG ratio, it's probably fresh mixed. About the only thing you can do is set them aside, try them again weekly. Especially if you're sort-of new to vaping or not/just recently off tobacco, that also can change the taste of a vape.

I will say, though, that there are some that you taste and you just know that they are never going to improve to the point of being vapable (by me); I've got a basket full of those.

I don't know how long you've been vaping, but many of us went through a period of time right around the second week or so when everything we had loved started tasting "off" for a little while. We sorta all came to the conclusion that since it happened to many of us that 1) it wasn't our imaginations, 2) it really wasn't the juice, and 3) that it passes. We were thinking maybe that's when the ol' taste buds finally come alive.....or something. All just speculation, but many of us went through it.....and even after vaping for quite awhile, it happens every now and then. If this is happening to all of the juices you just got in.....and if those juices are all different flavors from different places, it makes sense to me that it might be your taster that's off instead of every one of your new juices...........just saying........

That seems right to me... It's been 18 days. None of my juices taste right except one flavor (I ordered more of that tonight - I've got like 15 drops left. I'm just scared that with my taste being so off that I'll slip up and smoke a cigarette. I dreamt I had one last night... I guess I'll just keep chugging water and wait for this to pass.

Everything I have ordered from Tasty Vapor has taken at least a week to "age"

The tobacco flavor took almost a month. Geoff's blend took a week or more too. I tried it the day it came in the mail and thought "How the he'll do people like this?" Now a month later its not as overly sweet and chemical tasting... it actually tastes like banana bread with a cinnamon aftertase.

2 to 4 weeks wait will generally result in a juice "mellowing" if it's going to. I've had a few that were just too perfumy to be a good vape. I blame it on fresh mixes as someone already mentioned. There are some that I just didn't like from the start and still don't like that particular flavor. Rum is one. It smelled like an alcoholic drink at first and still does. The bottle is missing a few drops. That is all it took.

Maybe I should offer it on the PIF thread.

Ha. I know, but don't be too worried. If you did slip and have a cig, it wouldn't be the end of the world. But I'll bet that if you actually did smoke one, you'd really notice how nasty it tastes. That's the up side of your taste coming back....cigarettes taste bad. Find one of the new ones that you can stand, and just vape through it. Could be that by tomorrow morning your juices will be delicious again. Sometimes I'll be vaping something at night and I'll think I don't even taste it, or it's not very strong. Then I'll go to bed and have my PV loaded with that same juice. Then the next morning I'll hit it and I'm usually amazed at how strong it is. Ha. The one thing about the taste buds being wack-o is that they'll straighten out. Find the least awful new juice and vape through it. That's my advice. I have vaped straight VG before just to get through until the mailman showed up with some good stuff. Ha. Almost NOTHING tastes as bad as cigarettes do to me now.

Do you guys leave the caps off or keep them on?

When I vape in front of the comp I just leave the ones I'm using off, which can be from 2-6hrs of sitting in the evening. Also this is the starting of my second week of vaping and some flavors seem a little off but I'm still using the same atty and could be a build up of a bunch of sediment in the atomizer.
