RPunk is correct. It seems I am talking about the DCT and U-DCT's 1 out of 5 threads in these "My Kanger tastes like ...... spit" threads.
The new improved Smoktechs with the locking rings are amazing. The 6 ml from myfreedomsmokes is my new favorite. I will always drip but, it is so nice to chill and not worry about leaks, plastic taste, burnt wicks, failing coils etc.. The prepunched carts are cheap and in 2-3 weeks when the cart goes south suck any left over juice up with a syringe and prime the next carto with it and stuff it in the tank.
Yup, I still have the almighty Vivi's around but I am burnt on recoiling and rewicking for now.

Remove one of the two flavor wicks sitting on top of the coil, makes a world of difference in taste and wicking.

No. Does not remove the flavor associated or coming from the T3 itself. This would only potentially help with muted juice flavor or possibly from a burnt "flavor wick", which is actually woven mesh protecting the coils from touching the sides of the atty.

I just started using the Kanger T3's after using the Stardusts and they kept blowing out on me. The first day I had the Kanger, it started giving me a gross taste. I realized that what I was doing was tilting the PV up like I had to with the Stardusts because the coil was ontop. Doing this caused the bottom coil on the T3 to be exposed to nothing but air. After tilting it down when I hit it, I no longer get the gross taste and absolutely love the T3 compared to the Stardust.

Not saying this is what you are doing, just what happened in my own experience with the T3's. :p
