I've been using the regular vivi nova and never had much problem with it. Recently, I've tried the Kanger T3 and while it's decent, there are a few issues:

a. It seems to give a lot of burnt taste at 4.8V (2.4 ohm head), whereas my vivi nova had no problem at 4.8V. I had to tune it down to 4V for it to be decent.

b. Even at 4V, if I chain vape, it'll still occasionally give a dry hit (sort of)...

so it seems the wicking is too slow. I'm thinking about removing one of the flavor wicks to help the juice get flowing. But then I read that many people have gurgling/flooding issues with the T3...just the opposite problem I have. But that's alright, gurgling doesn't bother me as much as dry hits.

Question 1: should I remove one flavor wick or is that a really bad idea?

Some people say you can improve the wicking by not tightening the bottom too much, I'm not sure what this means...

Question 2: you are supposed to soak the head in alcohol out of the box right? My vivi nova heads always worked fine straight out of the box, but some of the Kanger heads gave an undesirable chemical taste to my vape (like bad perfume or something). It's not dry hit, but just taste weird. I'm thinking it's due to the wick. Anyone else have this problem as well?

thx

As far as removing a flavor wick, I'ld say it depends on your juice. If it's thick or high VG, removing one flavor strand (wick) will definately help. On my T3s, if I didn't get any dry hits, I left them there. With one of my juices I did get dry hits so it wasn't wicking fast enough. I removed one (saved it in case I got flooding) works like a champ. Anyway, pull one but save it in case you get the opposite. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I realize the center post on the head is press fitted in. It took some wiggle to get it out, but getting it back in was a pain in the rear.

Perhaps my poor wicking was due to the head being new. Now, after a half a tank, I realize it's getting a little better. But then again, I'm using it on 4 volts, whereas I could use my vivi nova on 4.8 with no problem. Speaking of which, what voltage do you use your T3 on? (assuming 2.4 or 2.6 ohm heads)

So I guess removing a flavor wick can possibly result in flooding, depending on the juice. Well, I always vape 80 pg 20 vg juice, so what do you think of that?
