I think most of our flavors improve with steeping, and as you have observed, some take a little longer than others. Yeah, they are often good right out of the mail, but the steeping can certainly change "good" to "great"! I think all of the original Virgin line flavors should be uncapped for 24 - 48 hours to allow the alcohol to evaporate. A longer steep is usually good for the complex flavors like the Konas and the Black Cherry Marshmallow (which is in our top 5 bestsellers). The Absolutes don't need the uncapping method, but the flavor intensifies with steeping, even if it's just for a week or two. Annette has commented before that she occasionally comes across a bottle that's been steeping for 3 months, and it was like finding a buried treasure.
Short version is yes, it can take different steeping times for different flavors, and as the saying goes...it's subjective! You'll find what works best for you...and that is ALWAYS the best way!
