Just a little clarification on health and RY4

Okay, I've received a Kanger subtank mini today. I also received some joyetech RY4 PG/VG @ 0.6mg.

I've also been reading this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/sub-ohm/562106-ecf-sub-ohm-advisory.html

One part of it says:

Until more information is available, our advice is that all butter/cream type flavors are avoided for sub-ohm use (inhalation of the butter-popcorn-custard flavoring diacetyl can cause the irreversible degenerative lung disease bronchiolitis obliterans, aka 'popcorn lung').

This has scared me. I don't want popcorn lung. Is RY4 one of those sorts of liquids? It's caramel, I'm vaping at 21.5w which is giving me 3.6v.

Can anyone advise me, I started vaping in 2009, stopped in 2011 and then started smoking again in Sept last year, now I've recently started vaping again. The last thing I want is to end up with an incurable disease.

Thanks.

christoff, welcome back :)

IMHO, RY4 is a safe juice with a few qualifications. It's impossible to predict the content of 100's of vendors mixes and it's certainly possible that their may be a few who introduce custards and or butter flavors in a mix which is labeled RY4. Many many many :) of the commercial RY4 mixes use RY4 Double from here: https://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/p-7409-ry4-double-flavor.aspx Choose your juice vendors wisely and don't be reluctant to ask the vendor questions.

So...the advisory is a good thing and RY4 does not fit the "flavor" profile in this advisory however we still don't know the complete story about the effects of supper high power on a given juice and the undesirable chemicals that may be released at levels that are generally regarded as unsafe.
