Some will likely already know this, but I have discovered that the tanks that come with the KSDs work extremely well if one swaps out the 2.5 ohm tank carto included for a Smoktech 1.5 ohm dual coil tank carto found here. Thanks go to Mindfield for suggesting I order them. Bloody marvelous.

Can't edit the title now, but I should have written; Just a lttle tip for other noob KSD eGo VV owners.

2.5 is for 4-5v thats why :p
It took a bit longer for some of us to twig onto this! ;) The 2.5 was, after all, supplied with the PV... Using the 2.5 put me right off tanks, until it dawned on me why Mindfield suggested I get them and tried one last night. Vaping bliss ever since!

K, wait. What part does this replace? And how/why does it make it better?

(Keep in mind, I'm such a newbie, I haven't even bought one yet....but I think I'm about ready to purchase a KSD VV kit from Canvape)

/so confused

Hey KillFace. The carto supplied with the tank is a 2.5 ohm, or higher resistance carto. They will develop less heat in the coils than a lower resistance one with devices that cannot "push" enough current. If you want to learn about why resistance (ohms) matter so much to vaping, watch the vid below. great tutorial on the subject.

Also. Full disclosure here. I am having some strange issues with my KSD devices, but I am told that it is unique to me and not common at all with other units sold. It is likely that you will not have any similar difficulties if you use them according to instructions for filling cartos/attys etc. Lots of tutorials available that you should check out by searching for "filling a carto" and other such topics here.

Ok, makes sense.

I'm planning on buying this kit: vv eGo ego variable voltage ego ksd 3.2 3.7 4.2 pass through usb 900mAh 5 click electronic cigarette e-cig smoke vape vaper vapor vapour

Seems like it is described as a "tank". And yet you're mentioning "cartos" aren't these completely different things? Does your suggestion apply to both a tank system and a carto system?
It isn't a "tank" unit per se, just a unit that can be used with the DCT that comes with it. It can be used with a tank, a carto or an atty for "dripping", which I am particularly fond of doing. Just be sure to get a 5 pack of 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos so you can swap out the 2.5 one included, and get at least 2x 5 packs of low resistance cartos. I prefer Boges but many others are available. Also get 2 or 3 bridgeless low resistance attys and a couple of drip tips of your liking. There are tutorials for using the DCT as well available by googling "filling a Smoktech DCT tank" or something like that. Lots and lots of vids on using this stuff.

Tell Tom TrueNorthist sent ya! Maybe I'll get a gold star on my invoice next order.

Sam, what kind of 306's do you use and where do you get yours?

the only one I haven't tried is the cisco ones.....always seem to be sold out when it's time to order. Most cdn suppliers have the joye ones, and they seem to go and go for me for weeks at a time. I find the first day of breaking them in I(odd dry hit) takes a bit and then by day two they're great. My last order came from canvape, but I've used rtd vapor and vapor geek often. I did try the io6 (think MLV has them) but I didn't like them as much as the joye ones. I also ordered some from AVE at one point with liquid and they worked, but not as well.

edit: just checked ave, they're boge ones. They were fine, but not quite as nice.

I almost forgot! Get two PVs so you have one charged unit with you at all times. They are pass-throughs though, and can be used while charging, but that can be inconvenient sometimes. They are inexpensive enough to get two without bankrupting yourself. Get an eGo case as well. Tom should cover all of this with you so don't worry about it too much. He will not try to over-sell you and is used to dealing with noobs like us.

Ok, Those are pretty cheap, I'll add them to my order.

Some folks find that flavour and vapour production are second to none with the dripping experience. Also, dripping is more conducive to 'trying out new juices' as you usually only drip 2-3 drops at a time. If you fill a cartomizer (or tank) with juice you've never tried before and then discover that you really don't like the juice, that carto is pretty much useless to you as the filler has already absorbed that juice and adding another juice will only 'mix' the flavours. With dripping on an atomizer, as I said, you use a few drops and can probably get an average of 6 or so good draws before you have to drip again...when changing flavours, just remove the atomizer, wrap a tissue around the connector end and then blow out any residual juice...pop it back onto your battery and you're ready to drip another flavour. You may get a cross mix for a couple of pulls but you'll soon get your next juice flavour coming through.

Oh, that sounds awesome. Thanks!

Hi TrueNorthist,

It's nice to see more people from Bc, I am in Surrey. So you have the KSD eGo VV from Canvape?

I just ordered 2 yesterday. I started with a borrowed Ego-T 650mah and quit smoking analogs immediately. I only think that i could use the upgrade to a different vapor.
Do you know if it's safe to only have the 1 set KSD eGo VV from Canvape, will it last. Please give me your experience because this one is new to me. I ordered 2 because my husband wants to try and quit like me. The only thing that scares me is that there is no spares of anything when it would break down on me.
Please help me out here.
Thanks,
Jolanda

Of course it's safe to only have one but the thing about vaping is you're always going to want backups for your backups... you never want to run out of something essential and feel the need to go back to analogs. Look up VaporChase on YouTube and find his review for the KSD VV, there may even be more reviews. It has been well received as you can tell by this thread. If there is any problems Canvape will do their best to ensure it is fixed, these guys as the best of the best.
